Responsibilities Responsible for building and leading a robust real estate gifting program. This position will manage all aspects of real estate gift marketing, review and acceptance and will manage the portfolio of gifted assets to maximize value to the Foundation and the University.

Key areas of responsibility include: training Development Officers in the gift acceptance criteria, collaborating with Development Officers throughout the gift process, performing due diligence on gifted properties, marketing and branding of FSU’s real estate gift program and positioning real estate gifts for sale.

Implement effective strategies and protocols for the acquisition and disposition of assets in compliance with published Foundation and University policies and procedures, as well as suggest proposed edits to enhance the efficiencies of the existing program.

Meet with donors to guide the design customized gift proposals and stewardship plans that align donor interests with university priorities.

Oversee due diligence, acceptance and administration of real estate gifts and coordinate analysis of real estate assets under consideration by the Foundation and the University or its DSOs with various University units, including the Office of Real Estate and the Office of General Counsel.

Provide innovative leadership to advance the real estate gifting program. Design and implement marketing, public relations strategies and events to promote the real estate gift program and highlight donor support.

Represent the FSU Foundation at donor events and serve as the primary liaison between the FSU Foundation and the college units on matters of real estate gifts and expert management of real estate portfolio assets, with an emphasis on risk mitigation.

Provide real estate brokerage assistance and expertise to the Office of Real Estate as requested for major initiatives and negotiation of acquisitions/dispositions/lease contracts and tenant improvements.

Actively manage the portfolio of real estate assets held by the FSU Foundation, including property management and insurance requirements.

Design training modules and provide ongoing assistance to Development Officers specifically geared towards gifts of real estate. Develop a real estate giving training program for existing FSU Division of University Advancement staff and external constituents that communicates the brand message and explains real estate gift options and benefits.

Coordinate with FSU's Office of General Counsel, and/or third party counsel, to address any legal matters necessary for closing either acquisitions or dispositions of real estate, including coordination of document exchanges with closing agents and other parties, and negotiate resolution of any matters affecting title prior to closing.

Partner with finance, facilities and legal teams to ensure alignment with university priorities and mitigate risk.

Strengthen the relationship with the FSU Real Estate Center (within the College of Business), providing educational programming as appropriate for the real estate industry and gift program. Develop relationships with alumni and donors who have extensive experience and connections in the real estate industry. Maintain active Real Estate Broker’s license.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and six years of experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and ten years of experience.

A valid State of Florida or Georgia Driver’s License or ability to obtain upon hire.

Valid Real Estate Broker's license.
