About The Role
At Carrier, we have an exciting opportunity in the Southeast region for a self‑directed and results‑oriented Channel Manager. This position has responsibility for driving Light Commercial (LCML) HVAC sales and margin growth through our distributors in select Gulf Coast states.
As a Light Commercial Sales General Manager, you will lead Carrier’s established distribution customers, oversee channel management activities and ensure short to medium term objectives and goals are met. You will develop distribution channel plans, influence leadership on critical sales strategies and represent the company’s interests to build business relationships that enhance sales performance of Carrier’s light commercial products.
This role serves the states of Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Tennessee, South Carolina and Florida. Job location is flexible within the area given proximity to a metropolitan airport.
Role Responsibilities
Acts as the primary contact with distribution and channel management teams and strategic prospects, developing professional relationships to understand and meet customer needs within contracted scope.
Establishes action plans and sales targets for each territory and reviews progress with local sales management regularly.
Partners with sales channel to identify and sell sizeable light commercial opportunities.
Identifies and visits key customers (contractors, consulting engineers, building owners and developers) to determine sales strategy and obtain business.
Provides regular updates to Carrier’s senior management on territory performance, sales channels and initiatives.
Collaborates across Carrier functions and business divisions to identify replacement opportunities and upcoming projects with existing customers.
Works with marketing to identify Carrier product strengths versus competition and implements plans and communication to capitalize.
Aggressively manages performance of distribution channels to drive Light Commercial products.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
3+ years of experience working in the HVAC industry.
5+ years of combined experience in sales, product management, engineering, and/or marketing.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree.
Experience with a 2‑step distribution process.
Light Commercial Sales Experience (e.g., rooftop HVAC units).
Strong executive presence and ability to engage with client and Carrier C‑suite executives.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with external customers and internal teams.
Sense of urgency, self‑initiative, dedication and ownership.
Outstanding follow‑up and follow‑through skills.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and prioritization ability.
Unwavering customer service orientation with appropriate empathy.
