The Job / What You'll Do We are seeking a highly experienced and strategically minded Staff Engineering Director to serve as the principal technical leader for our Salesforce ecosystem. This role operates at the intersection of architecture, engineering, and product strategy, guiding the long-term vision, scalability, and reliability of Salesforce platforms across the organization, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Financial Services Cloud (FSC), and Marketing Cloud.
You will work hands‑on as the top-level architect, set technical direction, define platform standards, drive modernization, and mentor engineering teams. This position is ideal for someone with deep multi‑cloud Salesforce expertise, strong architectural instincts, and the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
Responsibilities
Own the end-to-end technical architecture for Salesforce Core, FSC, Marketing Cloud, and integrated enterprise systems.
Define platform standards, integration patterns, data strategy, and security architecture.
Lead the design of scalable and resilient Salesforce solutions aligned with business vision and enterprise architecture principles.
Evaluate and drive adoption of new Salesforce capabilities, features, and AppExchange products.
Establish and govern Salesforce development standards, CI/CD pipelines, coding conventions, and release management processes.
Oversee data management frameworks, compliance standards, and platform performance benchmarks.
Set architecture guardrails that ensure high availability, data integrity, and scalability.
Partner with Product, Engineering, Business, and Executive leaders to translate strategic objectives into platform capabilities.
Provide architectural guidance across squads, projects, and cross‑cloud initiatives.
Serve as the point of escalation for complex technical challenges and integration issues.
Mentor engineers, admins, and developers across all levels and help shape their technical growth and architectural thinking.
Promote engineering culture focused on best practices, quality, security, and innovation.
Influence staffing, role definitions, and long‑term organizational design.
Oversee major cross‑cloud implementations, modernization programs, and large‑scale refactoring efforts.
Conduct architectural reviews and approvals for critical projects.
Ensure delivery aligns with roadmap priorities while maintaining platform stability.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong command of Apex, LWC, SOQL, flows, and Salesforce platform services.
Experience with enterprise integrations such as REST, SOAP, middleware, and event‑driven architectures.
Proven experience designing scalable multi‑cloud Salesforce environments.
Strong understanding of enterprise data models, role hierarchy, sharing security models, and governance frameworks.
Prior experience mentoring engineering teams and influencing executive stakeholders.
Salesforce certifications highly desired, including Application Architect, System Architect, CTA (preferred), Marketing Cloud certifications, and FSC accreditation.
Ability to connect business strategy with technical execution.
Strong communication skills with executive presence.
Experience working in regulated industries or financial services.
Passion for platform optimization, performance, and long‑term sustainability.
Ability to lead through ambiguity and define technical direction in evolving environments.
Education & Experience
10 or more years of Salesforce experience, including architecture leadership roles.
Deep hands‑on expertise in Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Financial Services Cloud, and Marketing Cloud.
Compensation & Benefits Compensation: The Base Salary range for this position is between $175,000-$195,000. This position will also be eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits.
