Our client, a leading organization in autonomous mobility, is seeking a dedicated and detail‑oriented Quality Engineer to join their team. As a Quality Engineer, you will be an essential part of the Supplier Quality team supporting assembly line operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proactive problem‑solving skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment, aligning successfully with the organization’s commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.

Job Title Quality Engineer

Location Hayward, CA

Pay Range $92‑$98 per hour

Responsibilities

Act as the first responder to all supplier material quality issues identified on the assembly line, in receiving, or in pre‑assembly inspection areas.

Implement containment activities such as sorting, rework, scrap, or Stop Shipment to prevent line disruptions.

Manage the disposition of non‑conforming materials, raising and overseeing Non‑Conformance Reports to ensure proper segregation and identification.

Lead corrective actions for in‑plant supplier quality issues, collaborating with Manufacturing, Vehicle Engineering, and Supplier Quality teams.

Analyze and report on supplier quality metrics, including fallout rates, non‑conformance trends, and containment effectiveness to leadership.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a Plant Quality, Manufacturing Quality, or Supplier Quality role within a high‑volume manufacturing environment.

Proven experience in a production plant environment with a strong understanding of assembly line operations and material quality impact.

Expertise in problem‑solving methodologies such as 8D, Six‑sigma, Fish Bone Analysis, 5 Whys, and statistical analysis.

Working knowledge of core quality tools including Process Flow Diagrams, FMEAs, Control Plans, SPC, and MSA.
