Aramark . You will work in the breathtaking surroundings of Denali National Park & Preserve, assisting customers with retail purchases, preparing coffee beverages, scooping ice cream, and ensuring a memorable experience for visitors.
About Denali National Park & Preserve and Doyon/Aramark Joint Venture Summer days in Alaska stretch nearly endlessly, with up to 20 hours of daylight on the Summer Solstice. Spanning 6.2 million acres, Denali National Park & Preserve is home to Denali, the highest peak in North America, and attracts over half a million visitors annually. Conveniently accessible by road—4.5 hours from Anchorage and 2 hours from Fairbanks.
Doyon Limited and Aramark have teamed up in a Joint Venture as the Denali National Park & Preserve's Concessionaire. Open May to September, our operation manages the transportation, retail, guest service and food and beverage concessions with our client, the National Park Service. By road, our 100 Blue Bird Bus Fleet takes guests past the 15‑mile public access point daily during summer months, allowing people to hike, view wildlife, climb, and camp where few people have set foot.
Seasonal Details This is a seasonal role with ideal dates of May 7–September 23, 2026.
We offer competitive wages, paid holidays, sick pay and a benefits stipend. On‑site housing and a meal plan ($16/day all inclusive) and local discounts are provided.
Employees are responsible for knowing the environmental aspects and associated impacts of their job position. Job‑specific environmental aspects and impacts will be communicated by department managers during EMS training.
Job Responsibilities Retail Sales
Greet customers warmly, provide product recommendations, and assist with purchases.
Operate a point‑of‑sale (POS) system to process transactions accurately.
Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing retail space.
Stock shelves, inventory products, and ensure merchandise displays are refreshed regularly.
Coffee Making
Prepare a variety of coffee and espresso‑based beverages (e.g., lattes, cappuccinos) to order.
Ensure consistent drink quality by adhering to recipes and customer preferences.
Maintain cleanliness and functionality of coffee‑making equipment.
Ice Cream Scooping
Scoop and serve ice cream in cones, cups, or sundaes while maintaining proper portion control.
Handle toppings and custom orders with attention to detail and cleanliness.
Keep the ice cream station clean, stocked, and organized.
Customer Service
Provide friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient service to all customers.
Answer questions about the store, products, and Denali National Park attractions.
Handle customer concerns or complaints professionally and elevate as needed.
General Duties
Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times.
Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cleaning and restocking.
Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
Prior experience in retail, coffee preparation, or food service is preferred but not required.
Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude.
Ability to multitask effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
Basic math skills for handling cash and operating the POS system.
Willingness to learn about the local area and share knowledge with guests.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.
Capability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
Comfort working in a variety of conditions, including occasional outdoor duties.
