About Leadership Brainery Leadership Brainery supports college students who have limited access to master's and doctoral degrees.
Position Overview The Graduate Admissions & Aid Manager leads Leadership Brainery's work in preparing prospective graduate students, particularly those in the Leadership Brainery Ambassador Fellowship (LBAF), to navigate the admissions and financial aid process from exploration through submission and beyond. This includes supporting students across various disciplines, including
STEM, Health & Medicine, Law & Policy, Business & Finance, and Education, Arts, & Humanities.
This role blends coordination of 5 industry-specific graduate school admission coaches, high-quality advising, structured program delivery, and the development of accurate, student-centered resources. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in graduate admissions and financial aid, excels at translating complex processes into accessible guidance, and approaches work with initiative, ownership, and independent judgment. They are highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in identifying needs, anticipating next steps, and improving systems that support both students and the broader Programs team.
This is a manager-level individual contributor position that reports to the Director of Programs.
Program & Project Management
Serve as the lead admissions coach and advisor for the LBAF, guiding participants through all five phases of the program.
Manage coordination of 5 industry-specific coaches paired with students for admissions support
Collaborate with the Programs team to integrate admissions and aid content into the LBAF curriculum and related initiatives.
Translate program goals into clear timelines, deliverables, and tracking systems.
Partner with the Development and Communications teams to align messaging and student-facing materials.
Collect and analyze program data to measure outcomes and continuously improve the student experience.
Identify recurring student challenges and recommend process improvements to address them.
Graduate Admissions & Financial Aid Advising
Stay current on admissions trends, standardized testing updates, and financial aid policies to inform advising and program design.
Support students during the 3-day Graduate School Summit to deepen their commitment to graduate education and build networks with recruiters, leaders, and peers.
Provide one‑on‑one coaching to help students define career goals, research programs, and map their path to admission.
Connect students with professional test prep and admissions coaches, and hold students accountable for completing assignments to ensure they stay on track for GRE, GMAT, LSAT, or MCAT exams and application deadlines.
Lead advising and workshops during the 2‑week intensive to help students craft competitive applications, prepare for admissions interviews, and identify scholarship opportunities.
Provide expert feedback and revisions on personal statements, essays, and other graduate application materials.
Coach students to articulate their stories effectively and connect their goals and experiences to the missions of graduate programs.
Guide students in evaluating admissions offers, financial aid packages, and matriculation steps for successful enrollment.
Resource Development
Create and maintain resources and tools (e.g., timelines, checklists, guides, databases) that help students successfully navigate the graduate school admissions process and apply for funding opportunities.
Develop and maintain admissions statement samples, templates, and writing resources that support graduate‑level writing.
Identify and connect students with resources that address barriers beyond traditional financial needs, such as access to mental health services, food and housing assistance, and emergency support, helping them remain focused and supported throughout the admissions process.
Success Metrics Success in this role will be demonstrated by:
Management: Coaches and third‑party partners are equipped and prepared to effectively work with Ambassadors
Student Impact: Ambassadors successfully completing the admissions and aid process and enrolling in graduate programs.
Program Outcomes: Meeting or exceeding key milestones for each phase of the LBAF (Graduate School Summit Participation, Standardized Test Completion, Interview Readiness, Application Submission, and Enrollment)
Program Quality: Positive student feedback and measurable increases in graduate school admissions preparedness and program satisfaction.
Operational Excellence: Timely, high‑quality delivery of advising, resources, and program components.
Data‑Driven Improvement: Regular use of data insights to enhance student advising and streamline program design.
Collaboration & Communication: Strong coordination with internal teams and consistent, transparent communication with external stakeholders.
Qualifications
Master's degree or higher.
Exceptional writing, editing, and interpersonal communication skills.
Minimum 4 years' experience in graduate admissions, academic advising, or higher education program management.
Familiarity with admissions testing processes (GRE, LSAT, GMAT, MCAT).
Experience designing or facilitating graduate readiness or professional development programming.
Skilled in project and data management tools (e.g., Asana, Google Workspace, Bloomerang).
Strong data analysis and reporting skills using Google Sheets, Excel, or Tableau.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively across teams.
