Overview As an Infrastructure Administrator, this person is responsible for the daily administration of Linux and Unix servers in a business application environment. Tasks include system administration, software and hardware support, configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, scripting, patching, performance monitoring, sizing, integration, upgrade implementation, diagnostics, and on‑call support.
Responsibilities
Day‑to‑day administration of all Linux‑based servers, including monitoring the trouble ticket queue, system troubleshooting, hardware and software changes, scripting, patching, system performance monitoring, system sizing, integration, upgrade implementation, hardware diagnostics, and on‑call support.
Application support by working with application administrators to fix and fine‑tune applications and guide them in using the underlying UNIX infrastructure.
Maintain all system documentation.
Qualifications
Excellent hands‑on experience with RHEL/CentOS/SUSE, including LVM device configuration, Kickstart/Jumpstart, Yum/Satellite, networking, etc.
Strong scripting skills in shell or Python for automation.
Demonstrable ability to perform UNIX builds such as RHEL and SUSE.
Working knowledge of VMware vCenter, system imaging, TCP/IP networking, remote administration systems (iLOM, iLO, iDRAC).
Knowledge of HP & Dell rack‑mount server hardware.
Good communication skills and ability to work individually or in a team.
Experience with AIX and configuration management tools such as SaltStack, Chef or Ansible is a plus.
Compensation U.S. pay range: $155,200 – $289,900 annually (California: $200,200 – $289,900). Base salary and short‑term incentives vary by location and experience.
