Marketing & Community Engagement Manager
San Francisco Film School is hiring a Marketing & Community Engagement Manager to elevate our visibility through compelling storytelling, local partnerships, and on-campus experiences. This role blends strategic thinking with hands‑on execution: managing our public voice across platforms, building relationships throughout the Bay Area, and organizing events that showcase our creative community. The ideal candidate knows how to connect with students, educators, and creatives – and can create and drive initiatives forward with focus, creativity, and follow‑through. San Francisco Film School is unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
Base pay range : $75,000.00/yr – $85,000.00/yr
Three Core Pillars
Refine and Amplify the School’s Public Messaging
Develop and manage social media campaigns: plan, create, post, and track content across platforms.
Grow our social presence and follower base through authentic, engaging storytelling.
Collaborate with students, faculty, alumni, and freelance creatives (e.g., videographers, editors) to develop compelling content.
Create and manage physical marketing materials (flyers, banners, programs, etc.).
Work with the marketing and admissions teams to create engaging email messaging and campaigns.
Lead Community Engagement & Local Outreach
Build and maintain relationships with high schools, nonprofits, and industry‑aligned businesses.
Represent the school at visits, events, and meetings across the Bay Area.
Serve as the school's point of contact for external community relationships.
Work with the admissions and marketing teams to create, launch and manage a yearly Bay Area film festival for high school students.
On Campus Events & Programming
Develop, organize and manage promotional campus events (e.g., screenings, meet‑ups, speaker sessions, open houses, masterclasses, celebrations, etc.).
Coordinate logistics, promotion, and internal support to ensure successful execution.
Need to Know (Tools & Platforms)
Social & Video Platforms: Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, Vimeo, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), Reddit.
Software: Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Eventbrite, and web‑design platforms.
Skills: Photography, videography, editing and basic graphic design.
Other Details
Ability to travel throughout the Bay Area as needed.
Comfortable working cross‑functionally across departments.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in social media marketing, community outreach, and/or community engagement (ideally in education, the arts, or nonprofit sectors).
Outstanding communication and public speaking skills.
Strong sense of design and messaging.
Highly organized, self‑motivated, and collaborative.
A passion for creative media, arts education, or youth empowerment strongly preferred.
