Senior Digital Tech Lead

Job Summary The lead role brings together the strategic leadership of a Senior IT Lead/Senior Architect with the hands‑on technical responsibilities of a Senior Digital Tech Lead. This professional is responsible for end‑to‑end application design and delivery, as well as the maintenance, development, and implementation of Digital solutions with particular focus on our Mobile apps.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Provide hands‑on technical leadership for software engineers, focusing on technical architecture, design, development, and successful delivery.
Act as a liaison between the customer community and the software development team for effective communication and understanding of requirements.
Define high‑level application platform architectural guidelines, making strategic choices and articulating trade‑offs to business owners.
Display outward thinking, develop strategies for the full software development life cycle of new and emerging technologies, and demonstrate the viability.
Mentor team members to improve their analytical and technical skills.
Perform technical analysis and implementation.
Remain up‑to‑date with coding best practices for scaling Single Page Applications and Mobile native technologies (iOS and Android).
Review and recommend partners, vendors, and emerging technologies; lead technical relationships with Digital partners & vendors.
Lead various Digital projects, providing technical support and guidance.
Lead interfaces with various internal and external IT teams.
Collaborate with team members and business partners to innovate and evolve functionality and design.
Design and build advanced applications based on UX designs, implementing user interface designs provided by the UX team.
Development and Delivery
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define, design, and deliver products based on best practices.
Partner with Scrum Masters, Project Managers, Business Analysts & SMEs, and Product Owners on Agile and Scrum principles and ways of working.
Unit‑test code for robustness, usability, and reliability.
Work on bug fixing and continuous improvement of applications based on metrics.
Technology Expertise
Native Mobile Apps programming for iOS (Swift/objective‑c) and Android (Java/Kotlin).
Strong experience with Angular 16+ framework, CSS, SCSS, HTML5, and UI frameworks.
Knowledge of hybrid mobile frameworks such as Capacitor/Ionic and PhoneBooth.
Expertise in UI/UX design principles; proficiency with Native mobile development, Angular UI frameworks like Material, PrimeNG, layout, networking, persistency, performance, concurrency, offline storage, and security.
Advanced or expert‑level experience with RxSwift and RxJava programming.
Experience with Spring Boot Framework and other micro‑services frameworks and orchestration platforms.
Familiarity with Google Play and Apple Store release processes.
Technical Documentation and Communication
Develop, maintain, and update system design documentation, including functional/technical documents, solution architecture documents, and data flow diagrams.
Demonstrate strong technical, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Show a desire to keep up‑to‑date with the latest mobile trends and technologies.
Required Qualifications
Education and Experience Required
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
7+ years of experience as a Senior Solutions Architect.
7+ years of experience designing, building, and integrating native mobile app solutions.
10+ years of IT experience in web and mobile app design, development, testing, and support.
TOGAF or similar Enterprise Architecture certification (a plus).
Significant technical experience as a software developer, software development lead, technical lead, or related role.
Strong knowledge of designing architectural solutions.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of application development lifecycle, API best practices, and DevOps.
Motivation to achieve results in a fast‑paced environment.
Technical Competencies Required
Cloud services experience (MS Azure/AWS).
Native Mobile Apps programming for iOS (Swift/objective‑c) and Android (Java/Kotlin).
Experience with Angular app development, Angular UI frameworks, Spring Boot, and other micro‑services frameworks.
CI/CD tools (Git, Jenkins, etc.) and source code management modules.
Experience with Google Analytics, RemoteConfig, etc.
Knowledge of NPM package publishing and reactive programming.
RDBMS systems (Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres).
Experience with container frameworks such as Docker and Kubernetes.
SAP, CRM, Customer services & Customer Experience integrations.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the utility sector.
Bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish.
