Job Purpose Contributes to Smoothie King’s success by leading the team to create and maintain an exceptional guest experience while upholding brand standards and modeling Smoothie King core values. The General Manager is involved in all areas of store operations:
Leading and developing the team
Ensuring an exceptional guest experience
Providing a high-quality product
Maximizing sales performance
Driving profitability while maintaining a fun and welcoming atmosphere
Duties and Responsibilities Action-Oriented
Reviews store environment and KPIs to identify problems and opportunities for improvement and adjusts accordingly
Drives implementation of company programs through action planning and inspiring the team to meet operational standards
Develops local store marketing plans to support brand initiatives
Initiates community outreach through marketing and special events
Uses operational tools such as Business Review, Cash Management, Log Labor Matrix, and Inventory Management tools to achieve Operational Excellence
Building Effective Teams
Challenges the team to achieve results
Manages performance and provides feedback, sets goals, and uses learning management system to support objectives
Recognizes and reinforces individual and team accomplishments and finds new, creative, effective methods of recognition
Utilizes and demonstrates effective management practices to create and maintain a successful store team, fostering an environment where the team feels valued and respected
Composure
Handles differences between guests and team members without escalating the situation
Communicates unexpected situations calmly and without showing resistance or frustration
Serves as a confidant or resource in tough situations
Drive for Results
Ensures team adheres to legal and operational compliance requirements
Adheres to all company food safety procedures while ensuring all team members are in compliance
Guest Focus
Encourages a guest-first attitude
Trains and holds team accountable for delivering an exceptional guest experience
Solicits guest feedback to understand satisfaction
Hiring & Staffing
Delegates and communicates appropriate responsibilities to ensure smooth flow of operations
Manages store staffing levels
Integrity and Trust
Manages team with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promotes Smoothie King culture, values, and mission
Fulfills cash handling, financial, and inventory reporting responsibilities honestly
Time Management
Sets priorities for the team and themselves each day
Relies on team by delegating daily checklist tasks
Plans ahead for managerial activities outside normal day tasks
Shows up on time for work
Completes required checklists and paperwork by due dates
Experience Requirements
3 years guest service experience in a restaurant or retail environment
1 year supervision experience
1 year experience analyzing financial reports (labor & COG)
Essential Job Functions
Demonstrated experience building community relationships
Clear oral and written communication skills
Ability to manage store operations independently
Ability to manage effectively in a fast-paced environment
Ability to manage resources to maintain service levels at all times
Exceptional interpersonal skills
Knowledge of guest service techniques
Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures
Organization and planning skills
Strong problem solving skills
Team building skills
Strong leadership skills with coaching and mentoring ability
Ability to plan and organize workload
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
Availability for flexible schedule including nights and weekends
Ability to tolerate exposure to various products and powdered substances without health risk
Willingness to follow dress code procedures
Ability to keep the store clean and follow food safety regulations
Ability to operate a blender and POS cashier system
Ability to move boxes weighing up to 55 lbs
Ability to bend, reach, and scoop during shifts
Ability to be mobile in walk-in refrigerator and freezer temperatures ranging from 40°F to –10°F
