Overview
Medical Science Liaison -- Great Lakes Region at Abbott. This is a remote opportunity in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division. The regions are: Great Lakes, Northern OH, Western PA. Abbott is a global healthcare leader creating breakthrough science to improve people’s health. This role focuses on medical and scientific engagement with ADC stakeholders, providing medical and scientific guidance to key customers, and supporting the US commercial team. The MSL supports scientific dialogue with national and regional thought leaders, supports publications and educational initiatives, and ensures compliant conduct with applicable laws and company policies. What You\'ll Do
Provide scientific and medical leadership to establish professional and credible relationships with thought leaders and external experts important to ADC. Maintain a strong medical and scientific presence for ADC in key academic centers by facilitating research and educational initiatives and supporting requests for medical and scientific information on products or therapeutic areas. Collaborate cross-functionally with other in-field members while retaining functional independence. Serve as a point of contact within the medical and scientific affairs team for thought leaders and external experts within an assigned geographic area to address their needs for scientific knowledge and, when requested, relevant ADC products. Deliver credible presentations on scientific matters to healthcare providers (individually or in groups) with a focus on Tier 1 and 2 thought leaders. Participate in the selection process to identify appropriately qualified thought leaders for educational and advisory collaborations (e.g., Advisory Boards, Congresses, Symposia) while maintaining scientific integrity. Attend relevant scientific meetings and conferences; collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop summaries of key data to inform ADC priorities; staff the Medical Affairs exhibit booth at national meetings. Provide scientific and technical support for publications of scientific or medical interest to key thought leaders/external experts. Ensure all activities comply with local and national laws, regulations, guidelines, codes of conduct, and company policies. Required Experience & Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a health sciences field. Preferred advanced degree (e.g., Pharmacy, Nutrition, Nursing, M.S. or PhD) in a relevant discipline; candidates with an undergraduate degree and demonstrated experience will be considered. The base pay for this position is $111,300.00 – $222,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the posted range.
