Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System Interviewer - Temporary Base pay range: $15.50/hr – $15.50/hr.

Agency: 340 Oklahoma State Department of Health (Center for Health Statistics).

Job Type: Temporary (Part-time). Work Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday. Primary hours vary; anticipated hours: Tues–Thurs 4pm–8pm / Fri 4pm–7pm / Sat 9am–3pm.

Location: Central Office – 123 Robert S Kerr, OKC.

Position Description : Collects data on personal behaviors that affect health by conducting telephone surveys (e.g., the Oklahoma Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System).

Position Responsibilities/Essential Functions

Conduct telephone interviews.

Accurately code survey responses.

Follow study protocols.

Be present in the office as an essential function.

Other duties as assigned.

Other Duties

Demonstrate knowledge of and support mission, vision, values, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.

Work effectively in a team environment, participating and assisting peers.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.

One year of call center or customer service experience.

Valued Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of office methods and procedures; telephone procedures and standard business communications; grammar, punctuation, spelling, and basic mathematics. Skill to operate office machines including computers/PCs. Ability to follow oral and written instructions; independently follow established protocols; encourage respondents to answer questions, probe and clarify if needed; establish and maintain effective working relationships with co‑workers.

Physical Demands and Work Environment Office setting, climate-controlled, moderate noise; requires talking, standing, walking, and reaching with hands/arms; long periods of sitting; daily use of computers and phones; willingness to complete job-related travel; presence at office essential.
