Assistant Vice President, Advisory Services
Join the WSP U.S. Advisory practice dedicated to transforming infrastructure across transportation, buildings, energy, water, environment, and power sectors. The team delivers strategic planning, organizational development, economic and financial analysis, and project development and delivery services, supported by WSP's engineering expertise.
Job Description We are looking for a motivated individual to join our Business Transformation service area. This position is located in
Seattle, WA .
Your Impact
Lead complex Advisory Services projects, ensuring project management, budget, quality control, and financial performance meet company standards.
Accountable for overall project performance: timely completion, financials, quality of work product.
Foster “trusted advisor” service and future‑ready solutions for clients.
Work directly with public and private sector clients to analyze and model business processes, implement organizational strategy and business analytics, and identify opportunities for improvement.
Evaluate current state across people, processes and technology; recommend data‑driven improvements.
Develop and drive to completion action‑oriented improvement roadmaps.
Translate client concerns into actionable scopes and deliverables.
Familiarity with industry standard practices, business process mapping notation and methodologies.
Understand capital delivery processes in transit, rail, roadways, and/or power industry contexts.
Guide and navigate ambiguous environments; have complex conversations with clients and leadership to define scope and keep project on track.
Manage project teams, time, deadlines.
Work in a matrixed environment; experience influencing without authority.
Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis, document findings, and present outcomes to client executives.
Collaborate with junior and senior team members to deliver excellent client services.
Lead client meetings and interact directly with clients for major capital projects.
Initiate technical excellence in high‑quality performance.
Produce high‑quality professional deliverables independently.
Contribute to national business development: opportunity identification, proposal development, negotiations.
Lead proposals, pricing, budgeting, performance metrics for Advisory Services discipline.
Represent Advisory Services to external entities, including federal, state, local agencies, clients, subcontractors, industry groups, government and community entities.
Build a professional network to support business development, marketing, proposals, and cross‑selling of other WSP capabilities.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, adhering to WSP's Code of Conduct.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
10+ years experience in capital delivery for transit, rail, roadways and/or power industry.
Experience designing and implementing process improvement practices.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence.
Proven experience in consulting or comparable role developing organizational capability and performance improvement.
Hands‑on leader, collaborator, individual contributor, strong team player.
Self‑starter, efficient execution.
Project Management experience; able to manage scope, schedule and budget.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience facilitating diverse groups through complex topics.
Familiarity with technological solutions and tools for automation and decision making within public works.
Project Management Professional (PMP).
Lean Six‑Sigma certification (or similar).
Prosci certification (or similar).
