Sr Principal Software Engineer/Consulting Member of Technical Staff

Required Skills
10+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating distributed systems or cloud services
Proven track record of owning large features end‑to‑end: problem definition, design, implementation, rollout, and ongoing operation (SLOs/metrics)
Strong CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, operating systems, networking, and distributed systems concepts
Deep knowledge of Linux and Linux internals (process scheduling, memory management, filesystems, networking)
Experience designing multi‑tenant, highly available, and scalable services (HA, DR, capacity planning)
Proficiency in one or more of: Java, Go, C/C++, or Rust; plus scripting (Python/Bash)
Production‑grade observability (metrics, logs, tracing) and performance profiling/tuning
Security‑mindful engineering: secure coding, authN/Z, TLS, secrets management
Experience working on open source software/contributions to open source Redis/memcached/Cassandra/PSQL is a strong plus
Responsibilities
Work with architects and business stakeholders to deliver new features/services and improvements, building enhancements, new components, and new services within an existing architecture.
Debug operational issues, raise the operational bar, and improve scalability of services.
Assist customers with onboarding to the service as needed.
Perform on‑call operations duties on a rotating basis.
Reimagine service experiences and deliver proof points that improve the service across dimensions such as semantic understanding, usability, cost to serve, availability, and storage tiering.
Provide technical leadership to drive critical work items, unlocking onboarding of large customers, service scalability, and new product initiatives.
Drive roadmap/vision/competitive analysis and bootstrap work streams to keep pace with landscape changes.
Build consensus across stakeholders and collaborate on business cases to seek executive leadership approval.
Make informed build/buy/partnership decisions using technical acumen and foresight.

Compensation and Benefits
US: Hiring range USD $96,800 – $251,600 per year. Eligibility for bonus and equity.
