Position Overview:
The Systems Engineer II / PACS Administrator is responsible for assessing, supporting, and enhancing clinical imaging systems, with a primary focus on Siemens Syngo Dynamics, Radiology VNA, and related PACS platforms. This role ensures system stability, performance, and scalability while supporting cardiology and radiology operations through system configuration, troubleshooting, upgrades, and end‑user support. The Systems Engineer serves as a key technical resource, collaborating with Cardiology IT, Radiology VNA teams, infrastructure groups, and vendors to maintain secure, high‑availability clinical systems that support patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Configure and deploy
server updates, security patches, tools, drivers , and infrastructure components transitioned from Service Design and Architecture.
Provide day‑to‑day operational support for
PACS and Cardiology imaging modalities .
Monitor, administer, upgrade, and deploy PACS‑related software and technologies.
Deliver
training and ongoing support
to end users on PACS functionality.
Act as a liaison between
Cardiology IT and Radiology VNA
support teams.
Facilitate PowerShare requests and support new user onboarding.
Monitor unread exams and participate in study reconciliation and
HIS/RIS verifications .
Monitor system links,
HL7 and DICOM interfaces , and resolve errors as assigned.
Provide project‑related monitoring, cross‑team technical collaboration, and troubleshooting of
server systems and networking .
Manage
DICOM configurations , including AE titles, ports, and modality worklists.
Extract data and generate reports to evaluate and monitor cardiology operations.
Create, execute, and deploy
scripts, tools, and server builds
for IT infrastructure.
Perform problem analysis, recovery, documentation, and reporting.
Provide technical consultation on projects and elevate to vendors when appropriate.
Support provisioning services, including quoting, ordering, tracking, and installation of new equipment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
OR
5+ years of equivalent experience
5+ years of server administration experience , including VMware environments
Experience supporting
PACS systems and PACS VNA archives
Working knowledge of
networking concepts
Strong distributed systems platform knowledge
Familiarity with
ITIL v3
concepts
Strong customer service orientation and problem‑solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing servers, desktops, and end‑user support in a healthcare environment
Clinical imaging experience in
Radiology or Cardiology
Epic infrastructure knowledge
Skills & Competencies Required Skills:

HL7 messaging
Server scripting and automation
Network protocols ( TCP/IP )
Windows operating systems
Preferred Skills:
Epic / EMR system integrations
VMware management
Healthcare IT infrastructure

Strong written and verbal communication
Cross‑functional collaboration with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
Supervisory Responsibilities
No direct reports
May provide guidance to junior or less experienced staff
Working Conditions
Onsite presence required during normal business hours
Occasional local travel to client sites, vendors, or conferences
Participation in after‑hours support for system upgrades; occasional weekend work
Hospital and office environments, including potential exposure to infectious materials and use of PPE
Physical requirements include sitting, standing, lifting up to 20 lbs occasionally, and standard visual demands
