Civil Site Project Engineer
GPI is seeking a civil site project engineer to join our growing Long Island operations in our Melville, NY office. We have a backlog of exciting projects ranging from residential developments to various commercial projects and everything in between. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the work they perform and a strong desire to succeed.

What You’ll Be Doing
Working on challenging and varying land development projects including a variety of nationally branded clients
Being part of a team of experienced engineers and technicians
Communicating with clients and local and state agencies
Ensuring the technical accuracy, standard engineering practices, and inclusion of appropriate documentation on various project plans, reports, and design documents
Hands‑on preparation of construction drawings, plans, and project specifications
Performing hydrologic and hydraulic analyses
Partnering with your supervisory team to meet your future goals and visionMentoring junior staff
What You Bring To The Table
BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program
Experience in land development design including site layout, grading, utilities, stormwater management, and erosion & sediment control
Excellent communication skills
Qualifications
A PE license is preferred, successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam is required
3+ years of experience with site development, grading, drainage, and stormwater management
Knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D
Experience in HydroCAD
Requirements
Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
Possess a personal vehicle for use on or around a job site
Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working
