Oculoplastic/Orbital Surgeon (Open Rank Faculty)
Full-time, Open Rank Faculty position in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Academic rank and salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
Location: North Carolina, US (primarily UNC – Chapel Hill). Occasional work at Fayetteville VA.
Proposed start date: 09/01/2025.
Full-time (40 hrs/week).
FTE negotiable (0.5–1.0).
Open until filled.
Portfolio of Responsibilities
Provide surgical care for oculoplastic and orbital conditions.
Deliver comprehensive patient care, including pre‑ and post‑operative management.
Conduct clinical research in oculoplastic/orbital surgery.
Teach and supervise residents, fellows, and medical students in the Department of Ophthalmology.
Serve on departmental committees and contribute to program development.
Participate in community outreach and health education initiatives.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
MD or DO degree.
Completed a 12‑24 month post‑residency fellowship in oculoplastic/orbital surgery.
Graduated from an approved ophthalmic residency training program.
Board certification or eligibility in ophthalmology.
Eligibility for North Carolina licensure.
Excellent surgical training in orbital surgery.
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent clinical and surgical skills.
Experience with ophthalmic ultrasound.
Strong commitment to teaching.
Ongoing interest in clinical and/or basic science research.
Physical/Mental Requirements On‑call occasionally; Requires patient care activity.
