The Division of Hematology and Hematologic Malignancies at the University of Utah and the Huntsman Cancer Institute is seeking to recruit a faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, DOQ , to be an integral member of the Plasma Cell Dyscrasia Program primarily focused on clinical trial development and accrual of patients with multiple myeloma. The candidate should have a superb clinical skill set with extensive experience treating patients with plasma cell dyscrasias including smoldering myeloma, multiple myeloma, amyloidosis, and Waldenstrom macroglobulinemia, have a strong track record of clinical trial participation as a principal investigator, and have experience writing and leading investigator-initiated trials with novel therapeutic approaches. The ideal candidate will be expected to be highly collaborative and boost the already strong clinical Plasma Cell Dyscrasia Program with a variety of research projects with high potential for clinical impact. Furthermore, the ideal candidate will have experience supervising a talented multi-disciplinary clinical staff, including advanced practice clinicians (APC), pharmacists, and clinical/research coordinators. Candidates are expected to have a strong track record of cooperative group, investigator-initiated, and industry-sponsored trial participation, have at least 3 years of clinical experience focused on treatment of patients with plasma cell dyscrasias, and a successful record of obtaining intramural and extramural funding from federal, foundation and pharmaceutical sources. This position will practice primarily out of the Huntsman Cancer Institute and University of Utah Hospital. Minimum Qualifications:

MD or DO degree (or equivalent degree) with board certification in Hematology or Oncology with or without a PhD; possessing or being eligible for a Utah Medical License; with initiative, curiosity and demonstrated capabilities within an academic environment.

The mission of the Division of Hematology and Hematologic Malignancies is to provide state of the art diagnostics and treatment in an environment of compassionate care to patients with hematologic cancer and non-malignant hematologic conditions. The Division currently has 31 full time Clinical Faculty members engaged in several subspecialties, who are also engaged in a broad spectrum of clinical, translational and basic research in Hematology. We are in a growth trajectory and look to expand our programs through high quality, innovation and dedication to the needs of our catchment population in the Mountain West.
