Facility Overview

• Type: Tribal, Medicare-certified Critical Access Hospital

• Beds: 15 total; 4-bed Med/Surg unit

• Annual Visits: 13,500 patients; 14,000 ED visits

• Catchment Area: Hopi Reservation and surrounding areas

• Tribes Served: Primarily Hopi and Navajo

️ Position: Hospitalist Physician

• Schedule: Wednesday Tuesday block, 10 hours/day

• Inpatient Load: 2 patients/day

• Urgent Care: patients/day (variable)

• Same Day Clinic: 8 10 appointments per half-day

Clinical Services & Capabilities

• Available On-Site:

- Suturing, Undisplaced Fractures, Local Block/IV

- Emergency/Urgent Care

- Lab, X-ray, Ultrasound (3x/week), Pharmacy, EKG

• Not Performed:

- Deliveries, Prenatal/Postnatal, Cesarean Sections, Major/Minor Surgery, Epidurals

• Specialty Services:

- On-site: Behavioral Health, Dental, Emergency, Rheumatology (telemedicine)

- Referred: Pediatrics, OBGYN, Dermatology, Psychiatry, Endocrinology, Podiatry, Pathology, Urology

Patient Demographics

• 100% American Indian/Alaska Native

• Languages: Many older patients speak only Hopi or Navajo; interpreters often needed

Job Requirements

• Board Certification: Family Practice or Internal Medicine

• Licensure: Active, unrestricted license and DEA (any U.S. state/territory)

• Certifications: BLS, ACLS (PALS optional)

• Immunizations: MMR, Varicella, Hep B, Influenza, COVID

• Experience: Recent inpatient and outpatient experience; no practice lapse >6 months
