Interventional Cardiology opening in Columbus, INFull-Time & PermanentSeeking a BE/BC Interventional Cardiologist to join group in Southern Indiana.General Info:
- Opening due to growth
- Group comprises of 10 MDs; Cardiologist, Interventional Cardiologists, EPs, Cardiothoracic
- In addition to serving the hospital, the cardiologists have dedicated outreach clinic time to 1 of 3 sites (Greensburg, North Vernon, & Seymour all within 30 minutes of Columbus). The cities have critical access to hospitals. EP generally does .5 days every week for outreach whereas Gen Cardiologists do 1-2 days. IC cards will do .5-1 day every 2-4 weeks dependent upon need.
- Practice with a good mix of inpatient and outpatient care supported by 8 NPs and an AGCNS-BS (Ross).
- Supports a 10-county region in southeastern Indiana with a catchment of around 400k.
- Rated as one of the nation's 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals in 2021 & 2022.
- The Cardiovascular Service Line is the system's growth priority for 2025.
- A new designated EP lab was recently constructed.
- In addition, there are 2 cardiac Cath labs and 1 hybrid lab with a growing structural heart program.
- Adding Interventional Cardiologists to comprise a team of 4 is under review.
- Epic EMR
- Average number of patients per provider: 14-28 For the Interventional Cardiologist:
- IC Cards are in the clinic average of 20% (1-1.5 days per week). 80% spent in hospital/Cath lab. Dedicated block time for IC s in the Cath Lab is being developed and a rotating inpatient rounding schedule every 7-9 weeks. IC s have dedicated time to ready Echos, Nuclears, and EKG s are done
- Team has a 1:4 call with a 15-minute call back and 30-min arrival response time (utilizing locum/prn s to assist or opportunity to pick up extra call)
- 100 STEMI s a year is evenly distributed among those 3 physicians. Average 10-20 STEMIs a month (1 of the top volume in the state). 1. Diagnostic Cardiac Caths average 100 a month and of those a little under half(480/yr) will need intervention (see pt 2 below)2. PCI 475-485 (consistently for past 5 years)3. TAVR 40-45 (program started Sept 2021) per year/shared among 3 IV Card. Equates to about3/month.4. Watchman 40-45 (program started Nov 2022)5. CardioMems (10-12)
- Not currently doing Mytraclips but will be evaluated once the team is built. Benefits:
- 1 Year starting Base Salary of $750,000
- Year 2: Compensation consists of Base Salary currently of $881,790 in accordance with the Group Cardiology Compensation Plan (subject to change if supported pooled compensation changes)
- Recruitment Incentive is in increments of $20,000 per year of commitment. Starting with $60,000 tied to a 3-year commitment
