Join to apply for the DIRECTOR OF BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES (Program Manager III) role at Maryland Military Department Continue with Google Continue with Google 2 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants Join to apply for the DIRECTOR OF BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES (Program Manager III) role at Maryland Military Department GRADE 21 LOCATION OF POSITION MDH Washington County Health Department Division of Behavioral Services 1302 Pennsylvania Avenue Hagerstown MD 21742 Main Purpose of Job The main purpose of this position is to lead the planning, oversight, direct and evaluation of the services and Behavioral Health Providers in Washington County and the services directly provided by the Prevention & Outreach, Clinical Services and Opioid Programming for the Washington County Health Department. The position oversees services including substance use and mental health. Position also functions as the Local Addiction Authority for Washington County, implementing programs and development of the system of care for the local jurisdiction. This position has an overall budget of over $4 million to govern the procedures and standard operations including population-based initiatives to improve behavioral health outcomes. Behavioral health involves both substance misuse prevention and control as well as mental health. This position interprets, develops, implements, and modifies policies, procedures and standards governing the operation of the Behavioral Health Division, and monitors and evaluates the effectiveness and efficiency of programs and services provided. This position manages subordinate managers and supervisors who oversee population-level efforts in behavioral health. This position leads a division that works closely with many public and private partners throughout the county to address adequacy of local behavioral health treatment services, ensure the behavioral health needs of vulnerable populations are being considered, implements and evaluates collaborative initiatives to address prevention and control of substance misuse at the population level, implements and evaluates collaborative initiatives to optimize behavioral health outcomes, and ensures that comprehensive and culturally-sensitive health education and behavioral health resources are provided to residents and their families. Minimum Qualifications Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years work experience in the area of substance abuse and mental health. Qualified candidates must also possess three (3) years supervisory experience. SELECTION PROCESS This is a Management Service position and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.
