Job Title: Phlebotomist III - Floater
Job Location: Kansas City, MO
Job Duration: 3 Months (possibility of extension)
Shift: Monday - Friday, availability from 6:30am - 8:00pm, 8 hr. shifts
Job Summary:
- The Patient Services Representative III (PSR III) serves as the face of the company, providing high-quality patient care during specimen collection and processing.
- This role involves drawing blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and ensuring patient comfort, safety, and confidentiality.
- The PSR III demonstrates leadership behaviors, process excellence, and superior customer service while working across multiple locations as business needs require.
- Assignments may include doctor’s offices, patient service centers, or other designated locations.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care & Specimen Collection:
- Perform clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing following established procedures.
- Draw blood samples accurately, safely, and skillfully (including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections).
- Explain procedures clearly to patients to establish trust and confidence.
- Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient signature post-venipuncture.
- Ensure specimens are labeled correctly in the patient’s presence.
Documentation & Compliance:
- Maintain accurate records and required documentation.
- Follow all policies related to confidentiality, accuracy, and patient information.
- Adhere to company policies, safety standards, and dress code.
Professional Conduct & Environment:
- Maintain a safe, professional, and welcoming environment.
- Promote a positive company image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.

Operational Support:
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
- Handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
- Travel to and cover multiple Patient Service Center and in-office locations with minimal notice.

- Excellent phlebotomy skills.

- Keyboarding and data entry proficiency.
Education & Certifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (required).
Experience Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
Additional Requirements:
- Reliable transportation.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (if applicable).
- Ability to travel and work flexible hours.
- Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.
