Akkodis is seeking a CNC Machinist for a W2 contract-to-hire position with a client in Asheville, NC . We are looking for candidates with machinist experience to work 2nd (2:45 PM to 11PM) or 3rd shift (10:45 PM to 7AM).

Rate Range: $25.00/hour to $28.00/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
CNC Machinist job responsibilities include:
- Operate and monitor multiple CNC machines.
- Manufacture hardware with tight tolerances and fine finishes.
- Read and interpret process operation sheets, tooling sheets, technical plans, and drawings.
- Set up, change, and reset tooling and fixturing.
- Read and understand CNC machine programs and support new part/program prove-outs.
- Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity during machine setup and operation.
- Utilize precision measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, indicators, and special-purpose gauges).
- Record accurate measurements and dimensions.
- Maintain commitment to safety, quality, and integrity in all tasks performed.
- Perform routine maintenance checks (e.g., oil and coolant) and submit requests for maintenance issues as needed.
- Actively participate in daily team meetings, continuous improvement, and problem-solving efforts.
- Collaborate with engineers and production schedulers to plan weekly work and part flow.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Either 2 years of machining experience or 1 year of machining experience with a machining certification.
- Experience following detailed instructions and planning.
- Experience reading simple blueprints and performing arithmetic with decimals/fractions.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments.
