Job Title: Dean of the School of Engineering

American International University (AIU) in Kuwait offers American-style education, degrees, and majors to serve both local and international students. The School of Engineering offers degrees in civil engineering, computer science, electrical and computer engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, and biomedical engineering. Additional programs may be introduced in the future.

The Dean of the School of Engineering is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the school, including:

• Full-time and adjunct faculty management
• Academic programs and curricula
• Course scheduling and assessment
• Website maintenance for the school
• Faculty recruitment and replacement
• Budget management
• Promotion of research and scholarship
• Maintaining the Engineering Advisory Committee
• Ensuring accreditation compliance, including ABET standards

The Dean reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and participates in all academic meetings and university development activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Doctoral degree in a relevant field from a reputable university
• Documented administrative leadership experience
• At least six years of teaching and research experience in higher education
• Current academic rank of Professor or Associate Professor
• Experience in collaborative decision-making
• Experience working in multicultural and multilingual environments
• Budget management experience
• Entrepreneurial mindset
