Seminole Tribe of Florida
The Chief Medical Officer is a service-oriented position that is responsible for setting the strategic direction of all medical programs and initiatives, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, effective, and patient-centered healthcare services to the Seminole Tribe of Florida Community. The incumbent provides overall executive leadership and clinical oversight, monitor clinical protocols, standards of practice, and evidence-based guidelines across all STOF health facilities providing advice to Tribal Council and Executive Leadership on matters of medical policy, emerging healthcare trends, and clinical risk management. The individual works closely with health care staff, department directors, physicians, and ARNPs to ensure that the highest standards of quality and service are maintained. Oversee the implementation of quality improvement efforts designed to improve clinical performance and maintain compliance with JCAHO, HIPAA, and other accreditation standards. The incumbent will function as team leader in a multidisciplinary health care setting.
Medical Doctor’s Degree (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy’s (D.O.) degree from an accredited medical school is required. The incumbent must possess a current and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Florida, and a Board Certification in Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Pediatrics or Medical-Pediatrics. A minimum of ten (10) years of senior leadership experience in healthcare administration, medical staff leadership, or executive-level clinical roles directing health/human/clinic services, programs or working in the implementation and coordination of treatment plans is required. Ability to exemplify the highest level of professional standards/ethics and demonstrate appropriate and culturally sensitive service delivery and community-based treatment. Superior organizational skills, project management abilities, critical thinking, exceptional analytical and communication skills, results orientation, and proficiency in budget and finance are required. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License is required. Demonstrate proficiency computer and software applications. Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
