Chief Financial Officer
is a strategic financial leader with a strong background in nonprofit operations, and exceptional communication and decision-making skills. The CFO will oversee all financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and compliance requirements; working closely with the CEO and Board of Directors to support the organization's mission and goals.
Position Overview A leading nonprofit organization dedicated to environmental conservation and education seeks an experienced Chief Financial Officer to oversee all financial operations and guide long-term financial strategy. This role is pivotal in ensuring fiscal health, compliance, and sustainability while supporting the organizations mission-driven goals. The CFO will collaborate closely with senior leadership and the Board to shape financial priorities and provide strategic insights.
Responsibilities Direct all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with organizational goals. Ensure compliance with tax, audit, and regulatory requirements. Oversee grant-related financial reporting and collaborate with program managers. Present financial performance and risk analysis to senior leadership and the Board. Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability. Manage relationships with banks, auditors, and other financial partners.

Requirements Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA or CPA strongly preferred) 10+ years of progressive financial management experience, including 5+ years in a nonprofit setting Proven success in developing financial strategies and managing complex budgets Expertise in regulatory compliance, audits, and tax filings Ability to communicate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders Passion for mission-driven work and collaborative leadership
