Description SAIC is seeking a Senior VOIP Engineer to support a large government customer.

This role is onsite at the DOT headquarters in Washington, DC.

Job Summary: Analyzes and develops VOIP networks, designing and planning installation and maintenance of VOIP systems from project inception to conclusion. Manages Jabber and Webex and ensures proper integration and communication of those systems with the VOIP network.

Technical Qualifications

Experience with VTC Systems:

Expertise in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting systems such as Poly (Polycom), Cisco WebEx, Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR), and Zoom Rooms.

Familiarity with legacy systems like Poly Group Series and new systems like Microsoft Surface Hub and Cisco Boards.

Network Knowledge:

Strong understanding of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, SIP, H.323, RTP).

Experience with VLANs, QoS, and firewall configurations for VTC.

System Integration and Administration:

Integration of endpoints with backend systems like RealPresence Resource Manager (RPRM), ISE, and Active Directory.

Skills

Troubleshooting and Diagnostics:

Ability to resolve complex audio, video, and network issues.

Hands-on troubleshooting of hardware, peripherals, and software.

User Support:

Experience in providing technical support and training to end users.

Strong communication skills to simplify technical concepts for non-technical users.

Relevant Experience

Field Experience:

Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting VTC systems in field offices and remote sites.

Vendor Coordination:

Working with vendors to address hardware and software issues and implement solutions.

Documentation and Reporting:

Creating detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and documenting maintenance and support activities.

Certifications

Mandatory Certs:

VTC-Specific Certifications:

Poly Certified Video Conferencing Engineer (PCVE).

Cisco Collaboration certifications (e.g., CCNA Collaboration, Cisco Video Network Specialist).

General IT Certifications:

CompTIA Security+.

ITIL Foundation (Service Management).

Recommended Certs:

General IT Certifications:

CompTIA Network+.

Networking Certifications:

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).

Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).

QUALIFICATIONS

8 + years of experience in video teleconferencing support or a related IT field, possessing advanced skills and knowledge in VOIP.

Must have experience managing and integrating Voice services with WebEx and other VTC technologies.

Previous experience in a federal or enterprise environment is a plus.

Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
