Role Overview Founding Sales Engineer — US, Cybersecurity / Cloud Security Start‑up
As one of the first Sales Engineers on the founding US go‑to‑market team, you will be critical in driving technical credibility, shaping sales motion, and enabling adoption of this next‑gen cloud cybersecurity platform. You’ll partner closely with Account Executives and early prospects to deeply understand security challenges, architect compelling solutions, and deliver high‑impact technical engagements that accelerate pipeline and revenue.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in early‑stage environments, enjoys hands‑on technical collaboration with sales, and loves translating complex cybersecurity capabilities into clear business value for enterprise organizations. What You’ll Do and Achieve
Lead technical discovery with prospects to understand security stacks, threat landscapes, cloud architecture, and success metrics.
Deliver high‑impact demos, proof‑of‑concepts, and technical workshops that showcase the platform value and drive urgency.
Partner with AEs throughout the full sales cycle — from early qualification through to closing.
Translate business and security requirements into tailored solution architectures and ROI proposals.
Act as a trusted advisor to prospects, influencing technical stakeholders from security teams to senior IT leadership.
Provide structured product feedback to engineering to help shape roadmap and improve experience.
Support RFPs, security reviews, and solution documentation to remove friction from the buying process.
Represent the company at industry events, webinars, and workshops to elevate technical presence.
Stay ahead of cloud security and cybersecurity trends to continuously enhance your consultative expertise.
Who You Are
5+ years experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Consulting, or a closely related technical pre‑sales role.
Strong focus on cloud security, experience with CNAPP + cloud security practitioner status.
Background in networking/network security.
Well versed around AWS/Azure.
Exceptional presenter — confident running live demos and tailoring messaging to different technical and business personas.
Proven experience working in the start‑up world.
Extensive knowledge of the broader cyber security space.
Fluency around AI, particularly as it links to security.
Based on the East Coast.
