Job Summary Yami is seeking an HR Business Partner (HRBP) to serve as a strategic partner to business leaders and managers. This role will work closely with assigned departments to align people strategies with business objectives while providing hands‑on HR support across the employee lifecycle. The HRBP will play a key role in talent hiring & planning, performance management, employee relations, organizational effectiveness, and change management, while ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies.
Job Responsibilities
Strategic HR Partnership
Partner with leaders and managers to understand business goals and proactively provide HR solutions that support growth and operational needs.
Advise managers on workforce planning, organizational design, and talent development strategies.
Act as a trusted coach to managers on performance management, employee engagement, and leadership effectiveness.
Employee Relations & Performance Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, conducting investigations and providing guidance on performance, conduct, and policy issues.
Support and drive performance review cycles, including goal setting, feedback, and development planning.
Partner with managers to address performance gaps and implement corrective action plans when needed.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
Collaborate with hiring managers to support hiring strategies, job design, interview processes while aligning hiring decisions with business needs.
Ensure open roles are filled in a timely manner while maintaining a consistent and positive candidate experience.
Support onboarding strategies to ensure smooth integration and early engagement of new hires.
Compliance & HR Operations Oversight
Ensure HR practices comply with federal, state, and local labor laws and company policies.
Maintain accurate employee documentation and oversee HR processes such as onboarding, offboarding, and employee records.
Partner with HR Operations on time & attendance, benefits administration, and HRIS data accuracy.
Monitor regulatory changes and support policy updates and manager training as needed.
Employee Engagement & Culture
Partner with leadership to drive employee engagement initiatives, team-building activities, and culture programs.
Support change management initiatives during periods of growth or organizational change.
Act as an advocate for employees while balancing business needs and organizational priorities.
HR Projects & Continuous Improvement
Lead or support HR projects and initiatives aimed at improving employee experience, manager capability, and operational efficiency.
Analyze HR metrics and trends to provide insights and recommendations to leadership.
Continuously improve HR processes and tools to better support the business.
Hands‑on Ownership of Core HR Operations
Manage timecard and attendance processes, ensuring accurate tracking, approvals, and compliance with company policies.
Support payroll & benefits administration, including enrollments, life event changes, terminations, and annual open enrollment support.
Lead onboarding and offboarding processes, including new hire documentation, orientation, and exit procedures.
Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data with confidentiality and attention to detail.
Track mandatory training, certifications, and policy acknowledgments to ensure compliance.
Provide direct operational support to employees and managers on day‑to‑day HR inquiries and issues.
Assist with HR audits, reporting, and documentation to uphold compliance and operational standards.
Qualifications (Required)
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
Effective communication skills (written/verbal) across all levels of the company
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy and consistent follow-through
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Familiarity with HRIS systems or a willingness to learn
Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and integrity
A proactive attitude and thrives under pressure
Bilingual language skills in Mandarin
Qualifications (Preferred)
Experience with HRIS and ATS
