About the team
Engineers at Jerry work on every layer of the stack – from front‑end interfaces to core data pipelines.
We ship new automations in 1–2 weeks, collaborate asynchronously across time zones, and own the end‑to‑end impact of the products we ship.
What You’ll Work On
Build automation systems for complex insurance servicing tasks (policy endorsements, cancellations, document uploads, reinstatements).
Ship new automations in 1–2 week sprints.
Develop backend business logic that respects insurance carrier rules.
Design backend pipelines that sync customer policy data, deliver alerts, and power re‑shopping experiences.
Optimize and scale internal tools (e.g., in‑house DocuSign) to reduce agent intervention.
Collaborate with product, data, and ops to improve churn and retention.
Work asynchronously across time zones with minimal meetings using Asana and Slack.
Continuously improve our backend systems, APIs, and micro‑service architecture.
Our Tech Stack
Frontend & backend: TypeScript, Nest.js, Next.js, React, React Native, Expo
API: GraphQL
Data: Postgres, DynamoDB, ClickHouse, Redis
Infrastructure: AWS, microservices (ECS/EKS), Lambda, containerized services
What We’re Looking For
At least 2 years of full‑stack engineering experience building production‑grade software, preferably in large‑scale, distributed systems for consumer‑facing products.
Strong foundations in data structures, algorithms, and systems design.
Comfortable tackling ambiguous problems, breaking them into actionable code, and iterating quickly.
Lifestyle of ownership – responsible for end‑to‑end outcomes and continuously improving systems.
Excellent asynchronous communication skills and ability to collaborate with a global team.
A natural curiosity and adaptability – love learning new tools and stepping outside comfort zones.
Benefits & Compensation The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the pay range listed on this posting.
Compensation may also include equity grants.
