Lead Software Engineer II - Tax Product Development (MS Dynamic CRM Focused)
Lead the design and implementation of complex distributed tax-related systems, leveraging Microsoft Power Applications and Project Operations to support the tax practice and deliver high‑value services to clients. Own end‑to‑end delivery, define architecture, and collaborate with global teams and cross‑functional groups.
Job Summary The Lead Software Engineer II focuses on building scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions. Key responsibilities include integrating and optimizing Dynamics CE and Project Operations, applying modern software engineering principles, and evangelising best practices across the organization.
Job Duties
Lead design and implementation of highly scalable distributed systems within an Agile team focused on tax solutions.
Design, develop, and test software solutions using web and cloud technologies for innovative tax products.
Apply modern software engineering principles throughout the software lifecycle for tax‑related applications.
Work with Senior Architects and Technical Leads to analyze design approach and architecture.
Integrate and customize Microsoft Dynamics CE and Project Operations to support tax practice workflows, client management, and project delivery.
Review business requirements for technical feasibility and collaborate with various teams to deliver quality tax software products.
Maintain tax products and platforms based on product roadmaps, production support processes, and compliance with IT, security, and business mandates.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders and cross‑functional teams such as technical architects, security teams, and others.
Champion secure coding and technical debt reduction while staying up to date with technology trends.
Evangelize modern methods of software engineering and innovation.
Perform other duties as required.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Mentor Senior Engineers and Lead Engineers to enhance code quality and ensure compliance with standards in tax product development.
Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM), Finance, or Accounting (required).
Experience
Eight (8) or more years of experience architecting and implementing Microsoft Dynamics Project Operations (or Project Service Automation), focusing on solution design, technical delivery, and system integration for project planning, resource management, and financial tracking.
Deep expertise in Microsoft Dynamics CE and Canvas App, including customization, configuration, and integration.
Extensive experience developing stored procedures and database schemas utilizing SQL Server, Azure SQL, or NoSQL databases.
Eight (8) or more years of experience designing and automating CI/CD/DevOps pipelines, and in-depth experience with Microsoft Azure and Azure Portal.
License/Certifications
Certifications in Microsoft MTA/MCSD, Azure Fundamentals (Az-900), Microsoft Azure Developer Associate, or Azure Solutions Architect (preferred).
Other Microsoft or Azure certifications (preferred).
Software
Proficient with scripting tools such as PowerShell, Graph API, and Azure CLI; experienced with monitoring tools like App Monitoring, App Insights, and PowerBI.
Experience with one or more of the following products (preferred):
Microsoft Visual Studio
Microsoft Azure DevOps or GitHub
Microsoft SQL Server and/or Azure SQL DB
Microsoft Power BI and PowerApps
Azure Functions
HTTP Debug Tools
Other Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Demonstrated ability to work well in hybrid and remote environments.
Solid verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and customer relationship skills; experience training or instructing professionals at all levels.

Capable of successfully multi‑tasking while working independently or within group environments.

Proficient in applying software engineering and object‑oriented programming principles, with strong experience in software design, algorithms, data structures, data modeling, and design patterns.
Expertise in writing clean code, leading code reviews, minimizing technical debt, and establishing coding standards and best practices within the team.
Ability to lead and mentor a team of software engineers, with experience in project management and delivering complex software projects on time.
Ability to align software development with business goals and strategic vision while encouraging innovation and continuous improvement.
