Director of Sales
Performance Foodservice is hiring a Director of Sales. The role involves planning, developing, and managing all sales and marketing activities to successfully market products and services to customers. Responsibilities also include establishing sales territories and goals, determining product line, price management, staff development, training, market research, and managing assigned personnel.
Position Purpose The Director of Sales will be responsible for planning, developing, and managing all sales and marketing activities necessary to successfully market products and services to customers. Also, responsible for establishing sales territories and goals, determination of product line, price management, sales, promotion, staff development, training, and market research. Effectively manage assigned personnel and function as a team member within the department and across functions, performing any duty assigned to best serve the company.
Primary Responsibilities
Develop and implement strategic marketing plans and sales plans and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives.
Develop and manage sales/marketing operating budgets.
Plan and oversee advertising and promotion activities including print, online, electronic media, and direct mail.
Develop and recommend product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy.
Achieve satisfactory profit/loss ratio and market share relative to preset standards and industry trends.
Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
Guide preparation of marketing activity reports and present to executive management.
Maintain a consistent corporate image across all product lines, promotional materials, and events.
Direct sales forecasting activities and set performance goals.
Direct staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales and marketing programs.
Direct market channel development activity and coordinate sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.
Represent company at trade association meetings to promote product.
Meet with key clients, assisting sales representatives with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
Coordinate liaison between sales department and other sales related units.
Analyze and control expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements.
Assist other departments in preparing manuals and technical publications.
Prepare periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
Review and analyze sales performance against programs, quotes and plans to determine effectiveness.
Direct product research and development.
Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. 4‑6 years of foodservice industry sales or related experience with supervisory experience.
