Position Summary The PACS (Picture Archiving and Communications System) Applications Analyst II is a business specialist and technology generalist responsible for aligning technology solutions with business strategies. The role proactively identifies opportunities to apply technologies to business processes, advising customers on system functionality, costs, benefits, and implementation requirements. The Analyst serves as a technical liaison and broker of services with vendors, developing credibility and effective working relations with customer management and IT personnel. Responsibilities include designing, building, installing, integrating, migrating data, testing, supporting, and upgrading imaging IT systems; maintaining operations, core functions, and system archives across BMC campuses. The Analyst monitors software and hardware issues, manages disk space allocation, device configuration, and backup systems, and troubleshoots problems. Close collaboration with clinical staff and analysts in workflow optimization, issue resolution, and system implementations is required. End‑user training, fostering physician and vendor relationships, developing imaging application policies, and occasional travel between campuses are also part of the role. The Analyst participates in rotating on‑call support.

System Administration

Proficiently manage and maintain Sectra IDS7 PACS, Powerscribe, LifeIMAGE, Powershare, MIM, Xeleris, Terarecon, Intelispace, GE AW, DICOM routers, DICOM systems, Candelis, DATQuant, Hologic, and other radiology‑related systems.

Diagnose and resolve radiology system issues to ensure uninterrupted workflow, performing regular maintenance, updates, and optimizations.

Implement and configure DICOM modality setups, ensuring seamless communication and compatibility between devices and systems.

Collaborate with radiologists, technicians, and staff to understand system needs and provide training and support to maximize utilization and efficiency.

Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and compliance standards, ensuring adherence to healthcare regulatory requirements.

Additional Experience Desired

Prior experience in business process re‑engineering or process improvement involving broad‑based information systems and tools to effect business change.

Experience in strategically using technology to manage and grow a business.

Experience organizing, planning, and executing projects from vision through implementation with internal personnel, contractors, and vendors; DICOM and HL7 knowledge is a plus.

Essential Responsibilities / Duties

Support customers in defining or designing business processes and identifying enabling technologies based on requirements.

Be a flexible, friendly, congenial, and enthusiastic team player.

Seek ways to apply technology to business processes, researching technical trends and competitor practices; assess near‑term needs using structured interviews to establish priorities.

Consult with technical experts to develop alternative solutions; advise on options, risks, costs, benefits, and impacts on other processes and system priorities; coordinate multi‑system solutions to clarify interdependencies.

Align with other IT functional areas to stay apprised of project status and inform customer management of progress.

Keep IT group managers aware of user issues and potential conflicts; diagnose, analyze, and resolve software issues independently or by engaging appropriate parties.

Document all aspects of project plans (scope, definition, testing, delivery, support) and coordinate business/clinical and IT implementation resources for delivery.

Participate in team environment and enable colleagues to meet department objectives.

Conduct business process analyses, needs assessments, preliminary cost‑benefit measurements; broker other IT services; communicate trends and requirements to and from customers and IT.

Participate in on‑call support rotation during business and off‑hours.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Associate’s degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience

2+ years of relevant experience in business systems analysis or business unit experience working closely with IT on system development and implementation.

Preference for Sectra and Epic knowledge.

Knowledge and Skills

Knowledge of assigned business area products and processes.

Strong technical knowledge and ability to explain complex concepts in business‑friendly terms.

Understanding of project management concepts for multi‑project, cross‑functional execution.

Strong written communication skills for documentation and technical writing.

Strong verbal communication skills with team members, IT, end users, and organizational departments.

Strong analytical and conceptual skills; track record of new concept development for complex technical plans.

Ability to solve problems across multiple environments within a business area.

Understanding of how IT impacts an organization and linking it to redesigned processes.

Team‑player attitude: flexible, friendly, congenial, enthusiastic.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

Compensation Range $66,500.00 – $96,500.00

This range estimates pay based on minimum qualifications and is determined by education, experience, skills, and market competitiveness. BMC also offers comprehensive benefits, bonuses, and development opportunities.
