Firmware Engineer Design and develop software for medical device products in full compliance with the company's Design Control requirements and consistent with FDA, ISO, and MDD standards. This role is focused on supporting new product development.

Responsibilities

Design and develop firmware for medical devices.

Ensure software meets company and industry standards including FDA, ISO, and MDD.

Participate in the entire product lifecycle from concept through development.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project objectives.

Support cybersecurity initiatives by evaluating vulnerabilities and implementing S-BOMs.

Conduct Cyber FMEA to ensure robust software security.

Utilize tools such as Blackduck and VectorCAST for development.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in C programming (80% focus), with some experience in C++.

Experience with microcontrollers, particularly Renesas, PIC, STMicro, and NXP.

Background in medical device development is required.

Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, particularly in regards to embedded systems and Bluetooth.

Experience with hardware communication protocols such as 1-Wire, I2C, SPI, RS232, USB, and CAN.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.

Experience with aerospace or automotive industries is a plus.

Familiarity with development tools like Blackduck and VectorCAST.

Work Environment Work Monday to Friday on-site in a state-of-the-art facility in Santa Clara. The role offers a flexible start time between 7am and 9am, with an 8-hour shift. The position is contract-to-hire based on performance and offers the opportunity to work on innovative electronic products in the medical device field.

Job Type & Location Contract position based out of Santa Clara, CA.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00/hr.
