About the Role As a CBRE Chief Building Engineer Supervisor, you will supervise the team responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing ongoing maintenance and repair operations for a facility, campus, or portfolio of buildings.
This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. You will be responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.
What You’ll Do
Track the training and development of staff; conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching opportunities.
Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees.
Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities, establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross‑train staff.
Set and track staff and department deadlines; mentor and coach as needed.
Develop, implement, and communicate preventive maintenance programs and safety procedure manuals.
Ensure that mechanics and technicians have the proper information and materials to complete work activities in a high‑quality and timely fashion.
Develop material and labor cost estimates for work orders, preventative maintenance activities, systems, and construction projects.
Establish and maintain budgets for facilities maintenance.
Respond to emergency situations and request help when needed.
Apply advanced knowledge to seek and develop new, better methods for accomplishing both individual and department objectives.
Showcase expertise in your job discipline and in‑depth knowledge of other job disciplines within the organization function.
Coach others to develop in‑depth knowledge and expertise in most or all areas within the function.
Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values.
Influence and persuade colleagues, often at senior levels, to adopt new perspectives.
Impact the achievement of customer, operational, project, or service objectives across multi‑discipline teams.

What You’ll Need
High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 5‑8 years of job‑related experience (or equivalent combination of experience and education). Prior shift manager or supervisory experience preferred.
Ability to meet the physical requirements of this role, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting/carrying heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
Innovative mentality to develop methods that go beyond existing solutions.
Ability to solve unique problems using standard and innovative solutions with broad business impact.
In‑depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
Expert organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
Highly sophisticated math skills, including complex calculations such as percentages and fractions.
