Software Development Manager, Alexa AI Domains (AIDo)
at Amazon The Alexa AI Domains (AIDo) team is looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer to join us in building the next‑generation of Alexa, Alexa+. The team owns critical Customer‑facing services in both Classic Alexa and Alexa+, working on everything from Operations to Development to innovative work with our Science teams as we invent the future! Key Responsibilities & Role Overview
As a Software Development Manager in the AIDo team you will be responsible for hiring, mentoring, day‑to‑day team leadership, triaging and prioritization, and longer‑term strategy. You will bring strong instincts and deep experience to help drive key decisions impacting Alexa and Alexa+ customers worldwide. You will work with other SDM’s and SDE’s both within and outside the AIDo team as our work has a broad impact and requires close collaboration with teams across the Alexa Organization. 3+ years of engineering team management experience 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi‑tier web services experience Experience operating mission‑critical customer‑facing services Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations Experience partnering with product or program management teams Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective product software engineers Qualifications

This position’s base pay ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market, based on market location and other factors. Amazon is a total compensation company; equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of compensation may also be provided as part of the total package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
