Revenue Tax Director This Revenue Tax Director is responsible for maximizing taxpayer compliance by defining and implementing procedures for tax returns and refunds.

Qualifications

Eight years of experience in accounting, financial auditing, tax administration, tax policy or law, management analysis, or administrative services in a financial setting; OR

Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus five years of experience in accounting, financial auditing, tax administration, tax policy or law, management analysis, or administrative services in a financial setting; OR

A bachelor's degree plus five years of experience in accounting, financial auditing, tax administration, tax policy or law, management analysis, or administrative services in a financial setting; OR

An advanced degree or Juris Doctorate plus four years of experience in accounting, financial auditing, tax administration, tax policy or law, management analysis, or administrative services in a financial setting; OR

Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or a current Louisiana license to practice law plus three years of experience in accounting, financial auditing, tax administration, tax policy or law, management analysis, or administrative services in a financial setting.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field. Job Duties

Plan, develop, and implement objectives, policies, and procedures necessary to enforce the tax law through a coordinated approach using the DELTA system and in conjunction with other audit and enforcement bodies within the Department and outside the Department (lRS, SEATA, FTA, etc.) in an efficient and expeditious manner to help fulfill the department's mission.

The incumbent answers questions, resolves problems, coordinates mutual activities, and obtains information necessary to make decisions appropriate for continued program improvements.

The incumbent confers with other Revenue division managers to coordinate, plan, receive and provide information, resolve problems, and prevent duplication of effort.

The incumbent delegates functions to subordinate staff and develop creative methods to accomplish program objectives with available Sources.

Directs and controls the activities of the division staff.

The incumbent hires personnel, provides for training, and oversees development of performance standards and performance evaluation, and counsel's staff.

The incumbent also formulates strategies, tactics, and action plans to achieve results, anticipates long range challenges and plans accordingly, and documents and tracks performance in accordance with the department's budget, strategic plan and operational plan.

The incumbent analyzes reports, articles and other related information as needed to stay abreast of tax trends and economic conditions.

The incumbent determines resource allocation and budgetary requirements for the division and prepares reports for the executive staff.

The incumbent approves division expenditures and litigation referrals.

Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
