Project Description The

Fatigue Countermeasures Laboratory

provides research, development, and operational software to support NASA’s spaceflight and aeronautics missions. This work focuses on developing tools and analyses to understand the causes and consequences of human performance decrements in these environments, as well as creating and refining countermeasures to mitigate these concerns.

Job Description We are seeking a

Software Data Analyst

to analyze software outputs and refine the development of tools for inflight use. This role involves working closely with the Fatigue Countermeasures Laboratory lead to define strategic software planning based on analysis results, presenting ongoing work to stakeholders, and performing additional analyses as requested by NASA projects.

Roles And Responsibilities

Data Analysis: Analyze data extracted from software tools used in complex operational environments such as spaceflight and aviation.

Communication: Present ongoing work weekly to the Fatigue Countermeasures Laboratory team and other stakeholders.

Project Management: Serve as project manager for individual NASA customers; maintain expertise in analyzing data generated from customized software tools.

Human Performance Expertise: Provide subject matter expertise on human performance issues and recommend software solutions to mitigate human error in complex environments.

Software Refinement: Recommend new features for software projects based on data analysis.

Coding: Demonstrate expert knowledge of SAS, R, and Python.

Documentation: Contribute technical documentation, including code sharing and archival, and report results in technical memoranda.

Collaboration: Attend meetings and collaborate with NASA software developers and analysts to advance automated tools and large language models.

Required Education, Experience & Skills

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree related to human cognitive performance with a strong technical background and significant relevant experience.

10+ years of demonstrated project management experience in studies and investigations of human performance decrements.

Strong practical expertise in manipulating and analyzing large datasets using SAS, R, and Python.

Experience evaluating software outputs for refinement, usability, and applicability.

Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

Basic Compensation $139,000.00 - $208,000.00
