Vice President, Venture Debt Originator

The Role As a Vice President, Venture Debt, you will be responsible for executing ATEL's venture debt strategy by sourcing, structuring, and closing high-quality opportunities. You'll focus on building strong relationships with entrepreneurs, venture capital firms, and other key stakeholders while helping innovative companies access non-dilutive capital to fuel their growth.

Key Responsibilities

Deal Origination & Business Development : Source venture debt opportunities by leveraging your network of founders, investors, and advisors. Build and manage a pipeline of high-quality prospects.

Deal Structuring and Execution : Structure, negotiate, and close venture debt solutions aligned with client growth strategies and ATEL's underwriting approach.

Relationship Management : Serve as a trusted partner to founders executives, and venture capital firms. Cultivate long‑term relationships within the venture ecosystem.

Strategy Execution : Carry out ATEL's venture debt strategy by consistently sourcing and executing transactions that align with portfolio goals.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field.

3 - 5+ years of origination experience in venture debt or closely related financial services.

Proven success structuring venture debt and working capital financings.

Skills and Competencies

Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to clearly explain complex financial structures.

Strong sales and relationship‑building capabilities with a client‑first mindset.

Skilled in analyzing financial statements, business plans, and projections.

Deep understanding of the venture capital ecosystem and non-dilutive financing strategies.

Highly analytical, detail‑oriented, and organized.

Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Salesforce CRM experience a plus
