Corporate Development Associate
Join eBay’s Corporate Development team to drive strategic acquisitions, investments, and joint ventures that shape the future of commerce. The role reports to the Sr. Director/Director of Corporate Development and blends deep M&A expertise with strong analytical and collaborative skills.
Overview Key responsibilities include sourcing, evaluating, negotiating, and executing transactions; building market insights; performing valuation and integration work; and coordinating cross‑functional teams across finance, tax, legal, HR, and business units.
Typical Transaction Responsibilities
Prepare executive‑ready presentations with strategic framing and recommendations.
Develop insightful analysis of industry trends (technology, competitors, consumers, regulation) and inform leadership of implications.
Identify and evaluate potential acquisition or investment opportunities with business and product teams.
Conduct rigorous valuation analyses using multiple methodologies and build business/integration case models.
Support due diligence, validate results, and facilitate closure of transactions.
Collaborate with cross‑functional groups—including Finance, Tax, Accounting, Legal, and HR—to manage acquisition and investment processes.
Qualifications
BA/BS degree and at least two years of relevant experience at a top‑tier investment bank, corporate development, private equity, or venture capital firm.
Strong strategic thinking, quantitative analysis, and problem‑solving skills.
Experience with deal execution, valuation, integration, and transaction structuring.
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities.
Ability to work collaboratively across functions and lead projects to completion.
Curiosity, proactivity, and resourcefulness.
Comfort speaking up, coaching, and giving constructive feedback.
Hybrid work model: 3 days/week in either our New York City office or San Jose, CA headquarters.
Compensation Base salary $104,400 – $139,400 (location and experience dependent). The total compensation package may include a target bonus, restricted stock units, and a full range of benefits (401(k), medical, PTO, parental leave, etc.).
