Senior Litigation Paralegal – Hybrid Schedule
Position located in Palo Alto, Los Angeles, or San Francisco, CA. Hybrid schedule.
Responsibilities
All elements of litigation case management, including file management, discovery, and trial activities.
Utilize case calendaring system to track filings and distribute information appropriately.
Leverage existing systems and procedures and/or establish new ones to facilitate organization and retrieval of documents.
Coordinate and oversee the tasks of more junior paralegals and other support staff on large litigation matters and investigations.
Liaise between case‑team attorneys and support staff to ensure paralegal services meet expectations.
Interact with outside entities (courts, government agencies, expert witnesses, corporations, vendors, and other law firms) to gather information or coordinate activities in support of trials and arbitrations.
Lead discovery and witness preparation support efforts.
Draft, review, and/or analyze routine legal documents as requested; conduct legal research.
Provide formal and informal guidance and training to junior paralegals regarding litigation procedures and best practices.
Qualifications
Five plus years of commercial litigation paralegal experience.
Recent trial experience, trial preparation, and experience traveling to trial as needed, including setting up war rooms.
Strong cite‑checking experience and proficiency with Bluebook rules.
Experience with all stages of litigation, including intake, discovery, trial, and arbitration.
Experience coordinating trial/arbitration logistics.
Experience developing and maintaining processes for paper and electronic case files.
Proficiency with e‑discovery databases (e.g., Relativity, Nuix) and litigation support software (e.g., LiveNote, CaseMap).
Proficiency using LexisNexis, Westlaw, and Adobe Acrobat in a legal setting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree required; paralegal certificate preferred.
Ability to work concurrently on multiple projects with changing priorities.
Flexibility for overtime work and travel.
Salary commensurate with experience: $95k–$140k+, with paid overtime, annual bonus, and generous employee benefits.
