Clinical Director – Lutherville, Timonium, MD

We are currently searching for an experienced Clinical Director with substance‑use‑disorder expertise for our Lutherville‑Timonium, MD location. The Clinical Director will implement clinical and operational processes while ensuring the integrity of the Company’s model and culture.
Kolmac’s healthcare centers offer a robust variety of behavioral health services, including substance‑use‑disorder counseling. The Clinical Executive Director will manage and expand all relevant service lines; the Kolmac side of the house provides IOP and OP, with none of the other components.
Responsibilities
The Clinical Director is a key member of the leadership team and provides supervision, direction, and support for all clinical and administrative staff in the region or center they oversee.
Responsible for all staffing processes—including interviewing, training, staffing for all sessions/groups, performance management/annual evaluations, and review and approval of timecards.
Responsible for managing all operations of the region or center, including scheduling, personnel, and program development.
Responsible for meeting or exceeding the budget as determined with Senior Leadership by managing a Profit and Loss Statement.
In partnership with RD, RVP and Chief Medical Officer, responsible for setting and managing clinical and operational KPIs.
Responsible for ensuring that all business operations and functions are fully compliant with all regulatory and administrative policy and procedure requirements and standards.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with local, State, and Federal agencies to achieve our healthcare delivery mission.
Ensure effective engagement with community stakeholders, advocates, neighborhood residents, businesses, other healthcare providers, and support organizations; build strong partnerships, alliances, and relationships that add value to patients, communities, and the healthcare system.
Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer and/or Medical Director for the management and delivery of all healthcare delivery services.
Communicate and support implementation of clinical, medical, and administrative operations.
Implement established policies and procedures while introducing and directing operational changes at the site level.
Oversee site admin team/office manager for all billing information and patient payments.
Collaborate with RD or RVP to build and execute strategic business growth plans.
Work with RD, RVP, and CFO to contribute to the annual budget preparation process, including developing creative initiatives to meet annual goals.
Collaborate with RD, RVP, CCO, and Medical Lead to develop and implement new programming aligned with evidence‑based research to enhance Kolmac’s clinical and medical approach.
Produce and maintain staff schedules on a weekly/monthly basis to ensure fluid delivery of services.
Ensure accurate, complete, timely, and high‑quality documentation and data collection to meet best practice clinical standards while complying with Kolmac’s policies, payer requirements, and external regulatory standards.
Drive outreach and build community relationships; attend meetings of community and professional associations and activities related to treatment services to facilitate referrals, resource development, and staff feedback.
Utilize site performance metrics and data to identify opportunities for operational and clinical improvements.
Provide weekly and monthly updates to Kolmac leadership on the clinical, operational, and financial health of the center.
Interview, hire, and ensure training for new staff, supporting the HR and training departments; complete performance evaluations and create professional development plans as needed.
Develop and support positive, professional, collaborative relationships with stakeholders to promote patient satisfaction, enhance program quality, and improve patient outcomes.
Regularly attend group and treatment team meetings to help direct the application of Kolmac’s treatment philosophy and approach.
Oversee physical clinic management; with support from RD, RVP of Operations, and VP of Real Estate Development, manage maintenance or other physical clinic projects.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Master's degree in behavioral health or a related healthcare discipline (Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, etc.) is required.
At least 5 years of progressive management responsibility in multisite healthcare operations.
At least 5 years of experience managing and delivering successful healthcare and financial endeavors.
At least 5 years working within the field of substance‑use‑disorder treatment.
3 years of supervisory management experience within the human services field.
Board‑approved clinical supervisor (required).
Understanding of financial statements and previous profit‑and‑loss responsibility.
Familiarity with state regulations and CARF standards.
Knowledge of local community drug trends, the effects of substances of abuse, and signs and symptoms.
Experience providing group and individual counseling to individuals with substance‑use and co‑occurring psychiatric disorders.
Excellent management, program development, and communication skills, evidenced by a record of programmatic and financial success in managing comprehensive and complex healthcare service delivery organizations.
Compliance with the ethical and professional standards and practices of counselors and therapists.
Strong interpersonal skills—engaging people authentically, delivering thoughtful, actionable feedback, and influencing people to achieve their best.
Strong bias toward action and results.
Proven ability to aggressively manage priorities and ensure follow‑through.
Exceptional problem‑solving ability.
Highly organized, able to multi‑task, and adapt readily to change.
Creative with an ability to pivot when situations and demands change.
Sets an extremely high standard for self and team.
If recovering from a substance‑use disorder, a minimum of five years continuous sobriety.
Certification or license as a clinician/therapist is required.
Marketing/business development experience preferred.
Licenses and Other Required Credentials
For Maryland candidates: must hold LGPC, LMFT, LGADC, LMSW, LCADC, LCPC, or LCSW‑C license and be licensed to supervise.
