Job Overview This position will be located in Kanagawa area. Amazon seeks a Senior Operations Manager to join our Japan Amazon Logistics team. The goal of Amazon Logistics (AMZL) is to build a world‑class last‑mile operation delivering to customers. Amazon aims to exceed expectations by ensuring that their orders are delivered as quickly, accurately, and in a cost‑effective manner. We are expanding rapidly in Japan.

Responsibilities

Overall safety, quality, performance, customer experience and people development for all delivery station operations.

Drive vision for the station team and create quality initiatives, process changes and lean initiatives.

Problem‑solve gaps between performance and goals.

Set and clarify requirements and expectations for Operations and Area Managers; measure performance, provide feedback, and hold Ops Managers accountable.

Manage an environment where Amazon orders are delivered directly to customers, handling rising volume and complexity on a 24/7 basis.

Maintain day‑to‑day relationships with multiple Delivery Service Providers (DSPs).

Present operational metrics regularly to senior leadership.

Hire, develop and retain top talent; create and implement a talent plan for the site.

Leverage Ops and Area Managers by sourcing and nurturing ideas and converting them into improvement plans.

Cultivate a strong culture and engagement throughout all levels of the delivery station team.

Take proactive steps to ensure best practices are shared across all departments, shifts and throughout the network.

Collaborate with key business partners such as Transport & Sortation, DSP Management, Finance, Loss Prevention, IT, HR, ACES and Engineering to secure support and resources for projects and initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong operations experience in a fast‑growing company or industry.

15+ years of Operations experience (supply chain, logistics, transportation, manufacturing, retail, etc.).

Previous experience leading a rapid expansion plan.

Proven record of delivering multi‑programs on time.

Excellent communication skills.

Business‑level Japanese.

Excited about working in a diverse group and contributing to an inclusive culture.
