We’re looking for an
Electrical Engineer
to help design, build, and bring to life our electronics prototypes. As an early member of a growing hardware team, you’ll own real pieces of the architecture and touch everything from schematics to firmware to lab bring-up.
We are an early-stage, stealth tech startup based in San Francisco, developing innovative hardware that rethinks human-computer interaction. While we can’t reveal too much just yet, our team is tackling cutting-edge engineering challenges to bring revolutionary products to life.
Responsibilities
Design, review, and iterate analog and mixed signal circuit schematics and PCB layouts.
Assist with sensor characterization and calibration to reduce device-to-device variability.
Develop firmware in C/C++ for embedded systems and sensor/board interfaces.
Write Python scripts for test automation, data logging, and data analysis.
Document designs, experiments, and findings; clearly present engineering findings and recommendations to the wider team.
Requirements
Experience with PCB schematic and layout work.
Solid understanding of analog circuit design (amplifiers, filters, power supplies, noise issues).
Proficiency in C and C++ for embedded firmware.
Experience writing Python for tooling, scripting, or data processing.
Independent work ethic, flexibility, and resourcefulness.
Strong communication skills; ability to work well in a team and across disciplines.
Comfortable in fast moving startup environment, excited to build independently, and develop interdisciplinary skills.
Preferred
2 or more years of relevant experience in electrical or hardware engineering.
Prior prototyping experience in electrical boards and circuits.
Experience with Altium Designer for PCB design.
Experience in mixed-signal board design, sensor systems or similar hardware.
Familiarity with test frameworks, instrumentation scripting, or data logging.
Interest or experience in high-frequency/high-speed hardware: e.g., signal‑integrity, controlled‑impedance layout, measurement/characterisation of high‑frequency modules.
Hands‑on experience or interest in high‑frequency hardware measurement/characterization (network analysers, spectrum analysers, or equivalent) or high‑speed module bring‑up.
Details
This position is full time, on‑site in San Francisco (SOMA).
