Texas Oncology is looking for an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) – Gyn/Onc to join our team! This position will support the Willowbrook location in Houston and The Woodlands, Texas. The position can be a Level I, II or Senior based on relevant candidate experience.

What does the Advanced Practice Provider do? (including but not limited to) Under supervision or in collaboration with practice physicians, the APP is involved in the care of individuals, families and patient groups dealing with cancer or related diagnoses. Care may be in clinic or virtually, via telemedicine. Responsibilities may include duties related to prevention, screening, patient care, management, and research. The APP may serve as a direct caregiver, health‑care consultant, patient educator, administrator or researcher. The APP ensures compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards and requirements and supports the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients.
Initiate and document appropriate interventions; evaluate and record patient/family response and prescribe therapies as indicated.
Perform procedures after appropriate training.
Assess patient/family needs and provide education.
Promote wellness and recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs.
Incorporate evidence‑based research into clinical practice.
Develop knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements.
Complete patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion.
Provide case management for patients and their families, given limited knowledge of community resources.
Provide staff education and/or promote it.
Round at affiliated hospitals and handle weekend or after‑hour calls.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications The ideal candidate for the Advanced Practice Provider position will have the following background and experience.
Nurse Practitioner
Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program. Level I is entry‑level and typically requires 0–3 years of experience. Level II requires a minimum of three (3) years of experience. Level Senior requires six (6) years of experience. RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state. Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner. Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
Physician Assistant
Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program. Current NCCPA certification. Level I is entry‑level and typically requires 0–3 years of experience. Level II requires three (3) years of experience. Level Senior requires six (6) years of experience. Current state license as a Physician Assistant in the practicing state. Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
Clinical Nurse Specialist
Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Clinical Nurse Specialist program. Level I is entry‑level and typically requires 0–3 years of experience. Level II requires three (3) years of experience. Level Senior requires six (6) years of experience. RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state. Current state licensure as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
