Wound Care Advanced Practitioner Role Scope This position would support the Outpatient Wound Care Centers in the Fairfield Region and the Inpatient Wound Consult Service at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. Scope of practice would include weekly clinics at the outpatient centers along with weekly rounds, consults, bedside procedures at St. Vincent’s Medical Center.
Comprehensive wound assessment and diagnosis of patients
Ordering appropriate lab tests, imaging studies, radiographic and other cardiac imaging studies; interpreting lab and imaging studies; maintaining currency in advanced cardiac life support
Perform procedures such as wound debridement, biopsies, application of skin biologics and substitutes
Management of hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatments
Coordinate care of assigned patients including nursing care, nutrition, medications, dressings and adjunctive wound therapies
Review patient charts, write progress notes, tabulate data, and complete other required medical record documentation

Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner Master’s program preferred
Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as a Physician Assistant / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Connecticut
Certification or eligible to be certified as a Physician Assistant, or National Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner through a national board certification
