This position is a hands-on, individual contributor technical leader involved in setting standards for excellence in quality across multiple teams. Responsible for partnering with cross-functional teams and providing input to a broad range of initiatives. A technical expert who continuously learns and keeps abreast of new technologies and industry best practices, and identifies ways to bring those practices into the engineering organization. Essential Functions
Partner with product management to craft product strategy, create product descriptions and ensure alignment to technology roadmaps. Be a thought leader: act as a senior point of expertise on software engineering issues, industry trends and developing technologies. Be a role model to others on the team. Coach and mentor team members. Own the creation of technical product design and architecture. Create and conduct presentations for small-to-medium size groups. Work closely with customers to understand their needs and build partnerships to improve Early Warning products. Partner with software engineering, product, and architecture to shape engineering approaches, share knowledge and experience. Develop, scope and shape a department-wide technical vision for the future. Design / engineer product and application service solutions aligned with the technology strategy roadmap (e.g., cloud, containerization, CI/CD, automated testing) with focus on scalable growth, maintainability, operational readiness and self-service enablement. Collaborate cross-functionally to influence and motivate others; serve as an internal catalyst for progressive change management. Support the company's commitment to risk management and protecting the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field (or equivalent experience). Fifteen or more years of experience in designing and developing complex software projects, including at least eight years in FinTech. 1–2 years of experience implementing application solutions/services in the cloud using containerization, CI/CD, automated testing and in compliance security guidelines. Experience in leading cross-functional teams to create technical solutions. Effective communicator with exceptional public speaking skills; comfortable presenting to all levels within the company. Knowledge of SDLC best practices, software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, LEAN, etc.) and DevOps practices. Proven track record designing and building complex end-to-end systems (full-stack developer). Hands-on experience in design and development using one or more of the following technologies: Java RESTful Web Services, Open Source Frameworks (Spring Boot, Spring Core), Microservices Architecture, Messaging frameworks (Kafka, Tibco EMS or JMS), Oracle PL/SQL, JavaScript and scripting frameworks (JQuery, AngularJS). Hands-on experience in test automation across unit, component, integration and functional testing. Experience with CI/CD pipelines including GIT, Maven, Jenkins, etc. Solid understanding of modern cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure). Experience with code repositories (e.g., Git, SVN), bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla) and wikis (e.g., Confluence). Background and drug screening. Preferred Qualifications
MS or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field. Knowledge of Splunk, Altiris & Zabbix. Hands-on experience with AWS. Experience with various database designs and architectures. Expertise in Terraform and/or other cloud orchestration technologies. Experience with monitoring and alerting systems like AppDynamics. Experience with languages such as C#, Ruby, Python, and PHP. Knowledge of ACH/EFT and real-time payment networks (RTP, FedNow). Experience migrating application services from on-prem to cloud. Cloud / Kubernetes certification. Physical Requirements
Working conditions are a normal office environment. Position is primarily sedentary and involves extensive computer use. May require standing, walking, kneeling and reaching. Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally. Must be able to communicate with internal and external customers. Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
