What You’ll Do
As a Department Manager, you will own a department and focus on maximizing its sales, inventory, and standards. You will manage inventory, move product to meet customer demand, review and manage planograms and period layouts, and be commercial by trending and ordering merchandise daily to drive sales.
You will keep an eye on the local market to maintain a competitive advantage in price, product, and shopping experience. You will use data to understand performance and drive sales to meet targets and manage stock file accuracy for your department.
As the leader of your department, you will hire, train, coach and motivate a team of Sales Associates and Team Leaders. This is crucial to ensuring your department delivers an exceptional shopping experience for every customer and a positive work environment for every colleague.

What You’ll Bring To be successful in this role, you will have at least 2 years of retail leadership experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and demonstrate strong commercial acumen. Our Department Managers typically join us with retail experience as either a Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, or Department Manager.
You are nimble and adaptable, flexing plans in a fast-paced environment.
You have strong communication skills and can relate to customer needs.
You are a role model who can lead, motivate, and inspire the team, building confidence and enthusiasm to deliver excellent store standards and customer service.
Resilient with proven ability to lead a team and confident in giving constructive feedback.
Commercially aware with understanding of local market, key competitors, and how systems and tools improve option control and drive sales.
Good planning and organizational skills, prioritizing within agreed timescales.
Experience supporting store management with protecting people, property, and premises by securing cash, stock and property. Keyholder responsibility and availability for emergency call-outs.
Ability to manage difficult situations and problem-solve effectively.
Effective communication in English, orally and in writing, with managers, supervisors, and hourly colleagues for instruction, coaching, corrective action, safety instructions, and leading teams daily and in emergencies. Provide amazing customer service in English, including communicating with customers and monitoring performance of English-speaking colleagues.

The pay range for this role is: $62,400 – $75,920
