VP - Finance Technology, Systems and Process
We are a global team of innovators and pioneers dedicated to shaping the future of observability. At New Relic, we build an intelligent platform that empowers companies to thrive in an AI‑first world by giving them unparalleled insight into their complex systems. As we continue to expand our global footprint, we’re looking for passionate people who want to help the world’s best companies optimize their digital applications. What You’ll Do
Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive, multi‑year finance technology roadmap that aligns with the company’s strategic objectives and anticipates future business needs. Systems Architecture & Integration: Oversee the architecture, implementation, integration, and optimization of all finance technology platforms, ensuring data flows efficiently and accurately across Salesforce, the Billing platform, Netsuite ERP, and specialized tools like BlackLine, Xactly, and Avalara. Process Improvement & Automation: Identify and drive significant process efficiencies and automation opportunities within the finance function, leveraging tools such as UiPath for robotic process automation (RPA) to streamline close cycles, reporting, and transactional processing. New Product Monetization: Own the Finance technology and process readiness for all new product launches and feature monetization. Ensure that the end‑to‑end Opportunity‑to‑Cash (OTC) system architecture (from Salesforce CPQ through the Billing platform and Netsuite) is configured, tested, and deployed to support the on‑time delivery of new products and monetized features to the market, ensuring accurate financial reporting from day one. AI, Agentic Automation, and Data Strategy: Drive the adoption of AI and machine learning to transform core finance and customer‑facing processes. For example, leverage advanced analytics and generative AI to automate the quoting process within Salesforce/CPQ, providing dynamic pricing recommendations, ensuring compliance, and reducing human touchpoints across the entire customer experience (quote creation, contract management, and revenue recognition). This includes developing the data infrastructure and governance required for successful AI deployment. Team Management & Development: Lead, mentor, and scale a high‑performing team of systems analysts, process engineers, and project managers. Governance & Compliance: Establish robust governance frameworks, data integrity protocols, and controls (SOX compliance, data security) across all financial systems. Stakeholder Management: Partner closely with executive leadership in Finance, IT, Sales Operations, and Product teams to translate business requirements into scalable technology solutions. Vendor Management: Manage key vendor relationships and contracts, ensuring maximum value and performance from technology investments. This Role Requires
15+ years of progressive experience leading and transforming global Finance Technology organizations, with a proven track record of managing the full lifecycle of core financial systems. Mandatory technical expertise in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), specifically NetSuite, and Quote‑to‑Cash (QTC) platforms, specifically Salesforce and associated billing systems. Strategic architecture acumen with deep experience designing and maintaining scalable, secure architectures across Order‑to‑Cash (O2C), Procure‑to‑Pay (P2P), and Record‑to‑Report (R2R) domains. Process transformation leader with a "technology‑first" approach to re‑engineering complex processes, resulting in quantifiable improvements in close cycles and data accuracy. Expertise in emerging technology integration, including the evaluation and deployment of RPA (e.g., UiPath), APIs, and AI/ML to automate high‑volume transactions and quoting processes. Compliance and governance mastery, with deep knowledge in establishing robust financial controls, data integrity protocols, and SOX compliance across multi‑system environments. Exceptional executive leadership and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to mentor global teams and articulate complex technical strategies to the Board and executive leadership. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Information Systems required; an MBA or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is strongly preferred. Valued professional certifications, such as CPA/CA for financial foundations, PgMP or Six Sigma Black Belt for program leadership, and vendor‑specific certifications (NetSuite/Salesforce).
