Join PagerDuty’s core feature engineering team and ship customer‑facing features that transform how responders orchestrate and resolve incidents at scale. You’ll build and own features end‑to‑end across services and UI (Java/Go/TypeScript/React, Kafka, MySQL, AWS), collaborate closely with Product and UX, and operate what you ship in production.

Working from our San Francisco office 2 days per week, you’ll be part of a supportive, international team where your work directly improves experiences used by leading enterprise customers, delivering visible impact week over week.

Key Responsibilities

Build features across a wide range of systems, processes, and technologies to solve customer problems.

Ship new customer‑facing features, working directly with a product manager, customer support team, and a team of engineers.

Collaborate with product, UX, and other engineering teams to deliver the highest quality experience on all platforms.

Provide code reviews for fellow team members.

Own and maintain production systems, be on‑call for production issues, and steer the future direction of components.

Participate in the on‑call rotation, triage and address production issues as they arise.

Basic Qualifications

1+ years of development experience working on customer‑facing and web‑based systems.

Experience working in an agile environment with iterative development and fast feedback.

Experience with tools that ensure high‑quality work and a smooth, automated, repeatable transition from your machine to our staging and production environments.

Solid understanding of web or service development basics (APIs, HTTP, JSON, REST).

Familiarity with version control and collaborative workflows (Git, pull requests, code reviews).

Clear, concise communication and a collaborative, growth‑oriented attitude.

Test‑first mindset: can write unit/integration tests and reason about correctness.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Experience with modern AI‑assisted coding environments such as Cursor, Claude, Windsurf, etc.

Public cloud engineering on AWS.

Pay Transparency The base salary range for this position is $98,000 – $165,000 USD. This role may also be eligible for bonus, commission, equity, and/or benefits.

Location PagerDuty operates a hybrid work model with offices in 8 major cities: Atlanta, Lisbon, London, San Francisco, Santiago, Sydney, Tokyo, and Toronto. Candidates must reside in an eligible location. Location restrictions: Australia: Northern Territory, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Western Australia; Canada: Alberta, Manitoba, Newfoundland, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, PEI, Quebec, Saskatchewan, Yukon; United States: Alaska, Hawaii, Iowa, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Dakota, West Virginia, Wyoming.
